Society Must Totality War Against Corona

Corona Virus is not a ‘small’ enemy. He is invisible, but vicious. Abstract, but deadly. Corona is indiscriminate. Everybody, religion, gender, and country were attacked. Thousands of victims have fallen.

The war on this pandemic must be carried out in totality. This is no ordinary virus. The pandemic officially named Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) was terrible.

Like a war, everyone must be prepared. We must not panic too much, but also should not be too lightly. Alertness is the best way, while providing assistance in the form of energy, thought, economy, and moral and motivational contributions.

As with any major war, we must all submit to the leader’s command, focus on one goal, and fight together to defeat Corona. Our commander is the central government. We must carry out directives from the center. We cannot divorce, let alone compare one regional leader with another regional leader. When we work together, if something is not right, we criticize and give advice, not we sing.

In the current condition, the government must be more aggressive in leading all forces in Indonesia to first, break the chain of distribution of Covid-19 in various ways. Second, increasing medical capacity so that every citizen exposed, especially patients who are very serious, can get treatment in hospitals and good medical services. Third, preventing the decline in people’s purchasing power.

Every citizen, whoever he is, needs to realize that we are in one car. If there is a problem with the car, everyone is affected. If the car is destroyed, all of us as a nation will be destroyed. Therefore, everyone, according to their expertise and abilities, must contribute to defeating Corona.

Breaking the Covid-19 stretching chain is a fixed price. Therefore, the government’s call to delay going home needs to be heeded. Those who have gone back and forth, must be independent isolation for 14 days. During that time span, they may not have physical contact with anyone, including family. If there are symptoms, report it to the nearest medical officer. The effort to break the chain of distribution of Corona requires collaboration of all elements of the nation. This is not just the job of the government and the medical team. It is a shared obligation to get involved in this great war.
