Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki said Palestine independence effort needs the world’s solidarity, especially from the countries in Asia and Africa.
According to Mr. Maliki, it is a naivety if he thinks that the Asia Africa Summit will give independence to Palestine immediately after the summit. “But, perhaps, this conference can give a solution for our nation in gaining independence. Yes, we call for solidarity, solidarity is what we are longing, and we will accept the solidarity for our freedom,” Mr. Maliki said at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Monday (4/20).
In addition, he continued, this meeting shows the support mechanism. If there is one issue that can unite the countries in this meeting, then the issue is the support for Palestinian independence. “There is no country that refuses to see Palestinian independence,” he said.
