Now that Indonesia has been independent for 74 years, it is the spirit of the fighters who freed Indonesia at that time with ambition. It was achieved very expensive and could not be measured by any amount of assets. Now is the time for the young generation’s obligation to continue the struggle of the fighters by promoting and promoting the Unitary Republic of Indonesia and keeping away all things that can divide the unity of the Indonesian people.
In a digital era that is growing rapidly throughout the world, people can more easily access anything they want, such as: reading news, watching their favorite movies, playing games, socializing, doing office work, ordering food or transportation just by clicking online. . That all can be done without having to search hard for anything here and there that requires energy or effort that can make us so lazy to move and lazy to socialize.
Apart from the positive things above, now young people or better known as Millennials are actually many who often abuse the use of gadgets or digital media not as it should function. This can have a very negative impact on users or others who if not supervised and mentored by parents. Children must be educated in order to use gadgets or digital media wisely. If children are let loose using their gadgets, there will be a lot of negative impacts such as: lazy learning, hard to socialize with others, easy to say dirty words, make things arbitrarily on social media without thinking about the effects such as hoaxes, defamation , and so forth.
Lately in the digital age social media more precisely contains a lot of fake news (hoaxes) that can make its readers very easy to believe. As if the news looks like a fact that can reap the controversy and debate that can damage the unity of Indonesia. The contents of the hoax usually contain politics or things that are busy being discussed (viral). The news content is usually carried out by persons who are not responsible and are not aware of the impact caused by the wider community. Therefore, we as a society must be able to cope wisely and prevent this from happening over and over again. Here are some hoax prevention solutions on social media, namely:
First, be careful when viewing news with titles that refer to provocation.
The solution to this first thing is to always compare other similar news from the official media, if the contents are contradictory it can be ascertained that the news is hoax news.
Second, check the facts of the news
If the news information comes from the police, it is better for political figures to check again by observing the news whether based on facts or opinions. If it is a fact, it will contain official information from the direct source and there is evidence, if the opinion usually only contains the opinion of the news writer
Third, check the authenticity of photos or videos
In this digital age, anyone can easily access the internet and take pictures from Google. Therefore, if we find news that contains videos or photos, it is better to research them first before they are distributed, they can be edited or are old photos that are uploaded again so as to make the photo look like the original. In order not to be easily fooled, we can check on Google by dragging and dropping the photo in the search field on the Google Images menu.
Fourth, checking the site address
If the news comes from a website address that has not been officially verified by the institution, then the news can be doubted. But if the site address has been verified by official institutions such as Detik.com, Legal, etc., we can be sure that the news has the truth.
Therefore, it is still wise to use the internet. Do not be detrimental to many people, because it will result in the division of a country. Therefore, Indonesia needs a leader with a wise leadership, firmly so that Indonesia can continue to advance in the fields of education, transportation, economics, regional arrangement and make people smarter in handling various cases such as hoax news.
