The public appreciates the additional budget for the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON). This step was taken to ensure the success of the implementation of a national sporting event which was held for the first time on Cenderawasih earth.
The government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) provides an additional budget for the XX National Sports Week (PO) and the XVI National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) as a form of full support for PON and Peparnas.
This support is based on a form of cooperation agreement for the distribution of government assistance for additional APBN funds signed by the Acting Officer (Plt). The Deputy Assistant for Standardization and Sports Infrastructure (SIOR) of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Firtian Judiswandarta and from the PB PON and Peparna were represented, Doren Wakerkwa Position, Chairman of the Hanan Committee of the National Paralympic Week (PB PEPARNAS XVI).
The addition of an additional budget for PON XX and Peparnas XVI at the request of the Chairman of PB PON XX who is also the Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe to President Joko Widodo. After that, a review will be carried out by the team so that the final results of the funds are Rp. 1.4 trillion for PON and Rp. 175 billion for Peparnas.
The plan for additional funding assistance from the State General Treasurer’s Chart of Accounts (BA BUN) for PB PON is Rp. 715 billion and PB Peparnas is Rp. 116 billion. Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali said, because of the length of the process, his party had to be careful when it came to administration. Zainudin advised his friends from the Ministry of Youth and Sports so that the implementation of PON XX Papua would run successfully, both in terms of achievement, implementation and administration.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Home Affairs, BPKP and LKPP, the Police and the Prosecutor’s Office for jointly making a good formula for the safe disbursement of the PON additional funds and does not hinder activities.
That is why, his party invited the presence of the Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence, the Director of Corruption Crimes at the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Department, in order to make us calm, remain careful. We don’t want to be witnessed by Jamintel and the Dirtipikor of the Police, but then our work is reckless.
Yunus Wonda as the Daily Chair of PB PON and Peparnas, expressed his gratitude for the attention of the central government, in this case the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which has given great attention to us in the preparation of infrastructure development.
It should be noted that later, the PON Papua event will be opened by President Joko Widodo on October 2. The opening will be held at the Lukas Enembe Stadium. The opening ceremony will follow the procedures and provisions of other multi-event events.
Papua Governor Lukas Enembe reminded the PON and Peparnas committees to be careful in managing the budget for the multi-national event. Lukas does not want the PON and Peparnas fund managers to have to deal with law enforcement officials after the two national events are completed. So that athletes can immediately test match in all venues.
Meanwhile, President Jokowi has issued instructions for the implementation of PON XX and Peparnas in Papua. Jokowi’s serious attention to the 2 multi-branches is stated in Presidential Instruction No. 4 of 2021 regarding support for the implementation of PON XX and Peparnas in 2021.
Acting (Plt) Head of the Papua Province Sports and Youth Service, Alexander Kapisa said, Jokowi really paid great attention to the implementation and success of the PON and Peparnas implementation. Kapisa also said that Presidential Instruction No. 4 contains that all aspects related to the implementation of PON in Papua can be carried out in terms of social, health and security aspects.
It is estimated that more than three thousand people will be seen in preparation for PON XX at the stadium and also scattered in various locations. A thousand native Papuan dancers, with local artists and Papuan choreographers will also be involved to enliven the ceremony.
Meanwhile, the implementation of the e-sports exhibition sport was officially opened on the indoor hockey field, hockey and cricket arena in Doyo Baru, Jayapura Regency, Papua. The event certainly carries a message of the enormous potential of the digital ecosystem industry as a strengthening of the national economy.
The PON and Peparnas events do require a lot of funds, so the government also needs to step in to help in terms of financing and building facilities. If these two things have been implemented, we should maintain the optimism for the success of the Papua PON.
