Radicals have begun to exert influence, not only on adults and seniors, but also on the younger generation. Students and students become easy targets of understanding radicalism, because they are considered still innocent, so they can be influenced easily. There must be no new victims from the younger generation who become terrorists and traitors to the nation.

Radicalism is very dangerous because they openly reject the principle of Pancasila and want to replace it with religious law. They also often feel dissatisfied with the government’s performance, and are considered enemies. So every rule and law made by the government is not implemented.

Radicals are also getting smart at utilizing technology to spread radicalism. They not only made sites, but also WA groups and Telegram channels to spread their influence in cyberspace. The target of the news that is spread on the internet is young people, who are already anxious about the internet.

Why the younger generation? Radicals have observed that young people in Indonesia tend to be ignorant and consider actions to obey the rules to be cool. A spokesman for the State Intelligence Agency, Wawan Hari Putranto, also stated that the younger generation was less alert to information that was spread on social media. So adolescents who reach adulthood are easy targets of radicals, because it’s easy to believe in news on the internet that is not necessarily valid.

Young people are also in the process of finding their true selves and they are looking for ways to make their existence recognized by the environment. They are also happy with the anti-establishment lifestyle and anti-mainstream style. If there are young people like this, it will usually be easily provoked by radicals. Because terrorists covertly invite them to protest government policies and channel a rebellious young soul, to take part in a demonstration.

Radicals who have succeeded in approaching young people through cyberspace have begun to instill the doctrine that government is evil, Pancasila is the taghag, and understanding democracy is not fair to all the people of Indonesia. Planting this wrong understanding is easier, even without having to have a physical meeting, because young people read the news and the doctrine in a relaxed brain condition. So that it can be more entered into the subconscious.

Even more extreme, young people are also influenced to become bomb brides as the highest form of jihad. They have finally been brainwashed and want to be victims so that terrorism by bombing public places is successful. In the brain of the young man was implanted that this action is noble and can go to heaven, even though what happened is the opposite.

Young people are expected not to come in contact with radicals at all. If there is news that seems to vilify the government or invite to protest a policy, see first who the author and what the name of the site. Check first on the anti-hoax site and don’t be influenced by what radicals say, let alone help spread it.

Radicals are indeed playing with words and persuading potential members. Do not just carelessly enter a Telegram channel and look at the background of its founder. Not to be suspicious, but rather to be cautious so as not to enter the circle of radicals. Because if it’s already in, it will be difficult to get out.

The younger generation is the target of radicals because they are open-minded and tend to be anti-establishment lifestyle. Radicals use social media to recruit members and approach young people, so they can spread their wings and spread heresy. Beware and do not get influenced by sweet words.
