Condemning the Atrocities of Papuan Separatist Groups

The atrocities of the Armed Separatist Group (KSB) have again happened to civil society. The victims were staff of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (Kemen PU PR) and motorcycle taxi drivers serving public transportation. All parties condemned this atrocity and urged the TNI / Polri to immediately crush the group.
Papua is grieving because another bloody incident has occurred, now coming from Dekai, Yahukimo district. Again, the role of the KSB is the mastermind behind this atrocity. Not one or two cases, but many cases are inscribed by these radical elements. It might have been arrested before, but there are always people who escaped and are now throwing tantrums. This KSB also disturbs the community and impedes national development that is needed by the citizens.
As reported by a number of media, an employee of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has been attacked by this OTK. When carrying out survey work in Dekai. The survey was conducted to monitor roads and bridges on the Dekai to Kenyam road sections. Osman Marbun as the Head of BBPJN (National Center for Development of National Roads) XVIII stated that this incident occurred when the survey team numbered 9 people on Jalan Gunung. They were intercepted and shot to two people.
Osman said he did not know anything about the activities carried out by the PUPR team, so he was surprised when he got the report. The two victims of this incident were known as the Head of Work Unit (Kasatker) BBPJN XVIII Jayapura, namely La Hanafi (55) and employees of PT Agung Mulia Iriana, Heri Agus Suprianto (50). Osman hoped the victims’ condition would stabilize soon so that they could be evacuated to Jayapura by Caravan aircraft that were already in Dekai. Head of Papua Police Public Relations, namely Kombes AM Kamal until now can not be confirmed related to the incident.
Meanwhile, Angling AKBP as Yahukimo Police Chief said that he could not confirm the perpetrators of the attack because it was still under investigation. His party has examined four witnesses who at that time joined the group. Nor do they know the perpetrator. According to reports, the survey team used two vehicles namely an pickup truck and a truck. And the victims who were hit by arrows were in the vehicle. La Hanafi was injured in the upper back which penetrated to the lungs. Besides that he was also hit by an arrow on his thigh. While Heri Agus was hit by an arrow on the front of the neck.
Simultaneously with the incident, news had just been sworn in as a native son of the region as deputy minister for Public Works and Public Housing, namely John Wempi Wetipo sticking out. A number of parties mentioned the name of John Wempi Wetipo being the subject of discussion after being appointed as Deputy Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR). For residents of Bumi Cendrawasih, the name is indeed familiar. Previously, he had been the Regent of Jayawijaya. He explained that his specific task was to ensure completion of infrastructure development in eastern Indonesia, including Papua.
It is said that Wempi had nominated himself as Governor of Guberbur against Lukas Enembe. However, he suffered defeat. Wempi reportedly began working as a civil servant in 1996, and eventually served as the head of the tourism agency for the district. During his time as regent, he helped initiate the Baliem Valley Cultural Festival, which was intended to attract tourists to other districts far away.
Not only has a myriad of achievements in the tourism sector and also regional development, he was also recorded as receiving an award from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in the field of wealth reporting and from the Ministry of Finance for financial management in the Jayawijaya region. In the next five years John Wempi will assist the tasks of the Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono.
Much literature states that if groups such as the KSB are also well-known other do not like the development carried out by the government in the Papua region. So there is a possibility, the background of the attack is this. In fact, the initial implementation of infrastructure development has experienced many obstacles, right? For example, with indigenous people and radicals like this.
Actually this development is really needed by the community. Because, access to transportation that will support the economic stretch will further develop. Road to one another will be easy to reach and does not require much time. Hopefully, the police and military can immediately arrest the perpetrators and comb through a number of places to arrest more perpetrators of this atrocity.
