Deciding the Bad Reason of Radicalism

The logic of radicalism which wants to establish the Khilafah is still alive in the minds of its members. Reason is very difficult to detect and eradicate if not seriously and continuously. We may be happy with the dismissal of HTI, but our task is not yet finished, there are still many other HTI-HTI hanging around.

The logic of radicalism which can subsequently give birth to the axis of terror, which is to assume that other people / parties are infidels and halal of their blood so that it must be destroyed, still exists and may still roam around us. Similar to the Khawarij group, it was institutionally destroyed centuries ago, but Khawarij’s reasoning: rigid; want to be alone; textualist ; negating others, still alive today. 

Our task in this context is to continually strive to break the chain of logic of radicalism. Reason that does not recognize plurality; not respecting other parties; does not recognize human law as a common guideline; trying to change the agreed state system; negate other people / parties, must be terminated as early as possible.

Reason like this is still commonly found on social media, even with free and carefree campaign. Reason and understanding like this that must be eradicated together. 

Like a root that pierced to the bottom of the ground reason. Uprooting trees, of course, does not stop just cutting the trunk, but must erode and dismantle its roots as well. Because it may be, the side of the trunk of this tree can still grow more branches of the tree trunk.

Reason is what directs humans. Hate reason, will give birth to acts of hatred. Reason for violence, will give birth to acts of violence. Likewise, the reason for peace, will give birth to actions that bring peace. Reason is like an abstract machine embedded in human consciousness. This subconscious is both personal, namely individual human beings, and is collective, namely society. 

For this reason, eradicating radicalism cannot only by fighting its manifestation, but must cut off its sources and roots, that is, the reason imprinted in the minds of humans. Because, if radicalism is like a cake, then the logic in the mind is like a cake pour. Repairing or destroying a cake cannot just stop at the cake, but must go into the cake pour. Because good and bad cake depends on the casting model.

Then how do you break radicalism?

The first way is to shift reason from al- hakimiyah al- ilahiyah (God is a judge / law maker) to al- hakimiyah al- basyariyah (human beings as lawmakers). The implication, no one else claims, that this is the thagut system , that is the pagan system, this is a big idol that must be crushed.      

The second way, the deconstruction of the meaning of jihad fi sabilillah, that jihad is not only limited to war and hostility, but jihad is the totality of life. Jihad is not dead in the way of Allah, but lives peacefully in the way of Allah. 

Termination of reasoning certainly requires cooperation , it cannot be done by the government alone. Collective work with the participation of all walks of life is a pre-requisite for terminating this radicalism. The process of deconstruction from the logic of violence to the logic of peace requires the activeness of all lines, governments, mass organizations, the community, all of whom must work together for a peaceful Indonesia.
