Some time ago the police succeeded in arresting suspected terrorists who were members of the West Sumatra Jamaah Anshorut Daulah (JAD). Densus 88 succeeded in arresting Novendri who was known to receive funds from an intellectual actor known to Saefullah. But now, Saefullah is known to be in Afghanistan.
For the disclosure, the Karopenmas of the National Police Public Relations Division Brigadier General Dedi Prasetyo said that his party would re-map the terrorism prisoners and deportants of Syria in Indonesia.
Dedi revealed that Novendri had mapped several areas of Padang. He is suspected to be launching terror at the upcoming anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, 17 August 2019. The act of terror is planned to be done especially in the area of West Sumatra.
The location mapped is the police office from the West Sumatra Regional Police, Padang Police, to the Traffic Police Post.
Not only that, Novendri was also known to have participated in assembling bombs to be used. Dedi also said that Novendri had lurked a number of police officers to be targeted for attacks and weapons.
In planning and carrying out acts of terror, Novendri did not work alone. A number of his colleagues are also still being pursued by the Detachment 88 Team.
The Anti Terror Detachment 88 Team succeeded in arresting Novendri at his house which was located at Perintis Kemerdekaan Street, Berok Nipah, Padang Barat District, Padang City.
In addition to Novendri, the Detachment 88 Team also confiscated evidence in the form of laptops, passports, five CDs about Daulah’s study, one safe Abdurrahman monotheism book, one small pot, five wire rolls, one small pipe connection and so on.
He also has connections with the Jamaat Ansharut Daulah (JAD) network both domestically and abroad.
For JAD Indonesia, Dedi Novendri has connections with MIT (Mujadihin East Indonesia), JAD Lampung and Sibolga, and JAD Bekasi.
Allegedly the Novendri terrorist turned out to be controlled by someone named Saefullah alias Daniel aka Chaniago. Saefullah has also been designated as a People Search List (DPO) by the police.
Alleged Police say that Saefullah is currently in an area known as Khurasan. An area that is in a slice between Iran, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.
Dedi said, after the collapse of the power of ISIS organizations in Iraq and Syria, several members of ISIS covered several areas around there. One potential area is Khurasan.
Of course it is not without reason the terrorists choose a reprimand, this is because the place is a gray area without direct control from the government.
Dedi also said that Saefullah also controls other terrorists, such as Yoga which is the East Kalimantan JAD which was arrested in June 2019. Yoga is suspected to replace the role of Andi Baso, who is the link between ISIS and JAD in Indonesia or the Philippines.
Andi Baso is known to have the ability to recruit members, currently Andi is believed to still live in the Philippines.
The threat of terrorism in fact still exists in some regions in Indonesia, arrests for the capture of terrorists, certainly shows that the existence of terrorism both actively and massively, still spread among the people.
Given that they are very clever in recruiting, social threats are also a warning in itself. Where the community must be wise in accepting studies that are provocative.
Do not let the spirit of jihad which is spread by one party, then misunderstood by joining a terrorist organization that is very anti against democracy in Indonesia.
We certainly have to understand, there is no religion that does not teach peace, provocative invitations to invite bombs will certainly only cause horizontal conflict. We must continue to be aware that terrorism must be eliminated from Indonesia.
Terrorists are skilled enough in recruiting members, they will certainly look for someone who feels ready to be a part of terror and spread fear.
The community certainly must have an effort to avoid understanding terrorism / radicalism. Education on national insight can certainly be a door that can be passed by students who are in middle school in high school.
