The observation period for Indonesian citizens from Wuhan was completed on Saturday (02/15/2020) . The medical team ensures that they are healthy and not exposed to the Corona Virus. W arga people advised me not to worry and accept them as part of our relatives.

Pros and cons of returning Indonesian citizens from Wuhan seems to have subsided. Anxiety about the spread of this deadly virus has been answered. Hundreds of repatriated Indonesian citizens have been confirmed to be free from the threat of the virus. An official appeal regarding this matter has also been raised by President Jokowi.

The virus that first appeared in Wuhan, China, China is suspected to have experienced a fairly rapid spread. No less than tens to hundreds of people were exposed and many were declared dead. The virus with another name COVID-19 has ignited the city of Wuhan until now. Various medical measures ranging from quarantine and a number of treatments have been carried out.

Not only being a trending topic, the spread of the corona virus is considered to cause a global uproar. How not, a person affected by this virus could suddenly meet death. Even with Indonesian citizens. Therefore, when there is a discourse about the repatriation of Indonesian citizens through Natuna, many Indonesians object strongly. However, the government ensures that all media actions will be imposed on them. So that citizens do not need to feel worried.

The virus that has not been found to cure it continues to be explored and examined by the Chinese authorities. Despite the increased vigilance status, the Indonesian government also appealed to all its citizens both domestically and abroad, especially Singapore, Malaysia and China to remain calm and not panic. Including keeping cleanliness, implementing healthy lifestyles and washing hands (using alcohol-based liquids) as an anticipatory measure.

Earlier, President Joko Widodo said that around 238 Indonesian citizens (WNI) who had been evacuated from Wuhan, China, were declared to have completed a 14-day observation period in Natuna. This is in accordance with the health protocol of the World Health Organization (WHO).

After undergoing an observation period of 14 days, no indication was found that the 238 Indonesian citizens were exposed to the Corona virus. Thus, Jokowi ensured that Indonesian citizens returning to their hometowns are free and healthy from Corona virus. He hopes the community will be able to accept them.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) will be involved in the repatriation process. Reportedly, all Indonesian citizens will be flown first from Natuna to Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, East Jakarta. BNPB has even prepared a number of transportation, logistics, tickets, and pocket money for them.

The Head of the BNPB Disaster Information and Communication Data Center, Agus Wibowo, said that the repatriation would also involve a number of other ministries such as the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Ministry of Health will notify the government regarding the area of each citizen, and will provide the citizens with a health certificate.

While the Ministry of Home Affairs will be responsible for arranging the return of each citizen from Halim to his home. The plan is that all Indonesian citizens suspected of coming from 30 provinces in Indonesia will be repatriated via air as well. He added, each family would wait at the airport of the province of their origin.

Despite being declared healthy and free of the Corona virus, the government still continues to make a number of anticipations. Including issuing “travel advice”, namely restrictions on travel to and from China. Includes temporary revocation of a visa-free visit.

This shows that the safety of citizens is a top priority for the Indonesian government today. In addition the government is also diverting tourism promotion from the bamboo curtain country. Namely the United States, Europe, and others.

Indonesian DPR Commission I Charles Honoris, a PDIP politician, also gave high appreciation to the approximately 42 members of the evacuation team who went to China and the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing who had struggled in the repatriation process.

He stated that cooperation between ministries and other parties in dealing with the Corona outbreak could be an example of unity with the efforts of mutual cooperation of the nation’s children in facing future problems.

Furthermore, the Indonesian government’s efforts in tackling the Corona outbreak were able to protect Indonesian citizens as a whole. Given, the harmful effects of the virus. And Hopefully the Chinese authorities can soon find the antivirus.
