The Papuan people support the security forces’ firm action against the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST), who have the heart to take the passengers of the Susi Air plane hostage. This needs to be done so that there are no similar incidents in the future.
The Papuan Armed Criminal Group (KKB) or also known as the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) is synonymous with terrorist groups. So automatically, according to Forensic Psychologist, Reza Indragiri Amriel, with the labeling of a terrorist, of course KST becomes a common enemy.
He explained that by considering KST Papua as a terrorist group, it has given legitimacy that indeed every component of the nation is capable of responding to the existence of this terrorist group as a common enemy and must be able to eradicate it quickly, decisively, measurably and thoroughly.
The reason is, when the mention of this group still uses the term KKB, the acts of brutality and cruelty that they commit are still considered as ordinary crimes, so that when crimes are committed by members of the public, the thought arises that it will be enough if faced by the Republic of Indonesia National Police. Indonesia (Polri) only.
In fact, the criminal acts that have been committed by KST Papua are truly very cruel and inhumane, so it is very important to be able to fight together. However, when there is an assumption and grouping that they are members of terrorists, they are directly able to change the paradigm and society at large becomes obliged to jointly eradicate them.
Not without reason, the article, the Forensic Psychologist added that with the facts that were happening, according to him, the battlefield to be able to fight these terrorist groups did not only take place on the mainland with security forces, but also the battlefield took place in cyberspace.
Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security (Menko Polhukam), Mahfud MD representing the Government of Indonesia had determined that the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) became a Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST), including when there were movements and individuals who were still affiliated with they.
The determination of KKB to become KST Papua is also based on the many brutal incidents they have committed, including how statements have been made by many parties before, such as the Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI), the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), the National Police, the National Armed Forces. Indonesia (TNI) even to statements made by Papuan community leaders and traditional leaders themselves.
In line with all the facts that occurred on the ground, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs immediately announced that the Government had considered that organizations and people in Papua who committed massive violence were categorized as terrorists and therefore needed to be dealt with immediately.
Mahfud MD then also cited the provisions contained in Law (UU) Number 5 of 2018, which states that a terrorist is anyone who actually plans, mobilizes and also organizes acts of terror. While terrorism itself is any act that uses violence or threats of violence that can create an atmosphere of terror or widespread fear.
These actions are capable of causing mass casualties or causing damage and destruction to strategic vital objects, to the environment, public facilities or international facilities with ideological, political and security motives.
Even recently, KST Papua again carried out their act of terror by setting fire to a Susi Air plane at Paro Airport, Nduga, Central Papua. They were also reported to have taken hostages to the pilots and passengers. Regarding this incident, the Regional Military Commander XVII/Cendrawasih, Major General Muhammad Saleh Mustafa stated that KST Papua which carried out the terror act was a group led by Egianus Kogoya.
For information, the Susi Air plane that was set on fire by KST at Paro Airport, Nduga, Central Papua was carrying as many as 5 passengers. The incident became known after it was reported that the plane had lost contact. According to the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Regional Police, Kombes Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, the plane should have returned to Timika after arriving in Nduga, but it turned out to be difficult to contact.
Of course, all the incidents and the many acts of terror that continue to be carried out by KST Papua deserve to be kept under scrutiny and do not let them continue to occur or spread to the point of causing destruction or even causing the lives of other people to be lost. So that all parties are obliged to play an active role in efforts to eradicate KST Papua.
