In the midst of efforts to strengthen peace in the land of Papua, anarchism has recently taken place from demonstrations in two locations, namely Wamena, starting with student demonstrations triggered by hoaxes and hoaxes related to racist utterances. While in Jayapura, there were demonstrations from students.

These two events made the atmosphere heavier with the victims of civilians and also security forces.

President’s Special Staff for Papua Lenis Kogoya said he was concerned and expressed his deepest condolences for the victims of Papuans on Monday (9/23/2019) yesterday.

According to Lenis, seeing that Papua must be carried out by the Government is not compartmentalized, but in its entirety and comprehensively that Papua is part of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia. So, it is needed a rare rarity that is done in eradicating poverty that occurs in Papua.

With the age of Indonesia which is already 74 years old, Papua has been in the lap of the motherland for more than 50 years. If you look at maturity for independence you have, not only is independence then left. But independence in the sense of development, economy, people, and that must be prepared.

“Why do I say compartmentalized, we have the 5th precepts of Pancasila, Social Justice for all Indonesian people,” said Lenis in a dialogue about Papua NKRI, Maintaining National Sovereignty in Jakarta, Wednesday (09/25/2019).

He explained, from all the existing RI Presidents, the struggle for development in Papua was the same stage or grand design. But in the era of President Jokowi there were differences.

“The difference is that since Jokowi first came to Papua, he already knew the problem, what happened, did not need to be taught, but knew first, not from people or his words,” said Lenis.

Then the other difference is, during Jokowi’s leadership improvement of Human Resources has been done with many native Papuans (OPA).

“So just inviting all parties to see Papua as a whole is not just one side,” he explained.

To create peace in Papua, Lenis admitted that actually it was very easy. By inviting the dialogue of the seven traditional institutions in Papua what they want. Next is making changes to the Special Autonomy Law (Otsus) so that governance is even better in Papua.
