Based on Bappenas press release in May 2017, Indonesia is predicted to experience a demographic bonus period in the range of 2030-2040. At this time, the population of productive age reaches 64% of the total population. This is certainly an advantage for Indonesia if the quality of human resources can be well prepared especially for young people of the current millennial generation.
However, improving the quality of human resources among millennials is not something easy. This is because of the nature and behavior that exists in millennial today. This generation tends not to care about the surrounding social conditions such as the world of politics and economic development in Indonesia. Most of them boast a lifestyle of freedom and hedonism. Having a vision that is unrealistic and too idealistic. Plus the nature is less critical, not infrequently they are provoked information that is not even known to the truth so that anarchist behavior.
Of course, all this is due to the negative impact of existing technological advancements. When information comes in, most of them don’t find out the truth and chronology that actually happened. Worse yet, there are some who just read the title without understanding its contents. If this continues, the harmony between citizens will be greatly disturbed. It is not impossible, Indonesia could fail in utilizing the demographic bonus as happened in South Africa and Brazil. The population of more than half are young people, and the nature that is easily provoked by hoax or hoax news, will cause this nation to be easily divided by foreign parties who want to destroy the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia.
“In this era, when information is very freely available, we should open our minds broadly by reading and understanding them carefully, so they are not easily ignited by the thoughts of others who are not necessarily proven true. “

Know Yourself
Start by recognizing yourself. After that, determine the vision to be achieved. Because, Indonesia needs many young people with a clear vision and real execution. The next step is to plan the flow that will be carried out to achieve this vision. This is the essence of productivity. All activities will be directed, measured and structured according to what we need.
Millennial is the key and the main character in the demographic bonus later. Indonesia’s success or failure in utilizing demographic bonuses is on the shoulders of this generation. Being productive millennial will certainly have a significant influence on the success of the Republic of Indonesia. Let us take advantage of the time, energy, and enthusiasm that is currently available to be part of the history of Indonesia’s rise and success in facing the peak of demographic bonus in 2030 later.
