The rejection of the funeral of the corpses of Covid-19 victims by unscrupulous people is a serious case that must be followed up by law enforcement. Aside from being inhumane acts, the perpetrators of rejection of the body can be threatened with imprisonment.
Since the beginning of March until now, the co-19 epidemic has not yet been resolved and positive cases continue to grow, even though there are quite a lot of patients recovering. Some patients with complications of other diseases most died from exposure to covid-19.
The death of a covid-19 patient does not necessarily make the virus die, it takes time for the virus to not get energy and die. This is what underlies the body care process does not need to be bathed or polished. The family can only pray supernaturally. In fact, the body was interred with a chest.
Covid-19’s funeral has a special protocol, which is like wrapped in plastic so that the liquid from the body does not come out, the depth of the tomb is 1.5-2 meters. If this protocol is done correctly, there is nothing more to worry about.
Even though the medical has handled the funeral process well, it turns out there are still many people with excessive levels of fear rejecting the bodies of covid-19 Actually this is not logical enough, especially not very humane. Just imagine, what if the body is you or a member of your family or your closest people. Isn’t it very painful when you die even to be ostracized?
In the midst of such a conducive state of society. Finally, the security forces reinforced the sanctions for the refusal of the corpse-19.
The Indonesian National Police has appealed not to refuse the bodies of covid-19 patients who will be buried. The Head of the Police Headquarters Public Information Bureau, Brig. Gen. Argo Yuwono stressed that there was a threat to the community who refused the bodies of victims of covid-19.
Last Friday, Argo said that if he refused the co-19 body, it would be subject to the Law on Disease.
Communities who do not comply and continue to reject the funeral of covid-19 bodies will be subject to article 212 of the Criminal Code and / or Article 214 of the Criminal Code and / or article 14 of Law Number 4 of 1984 concerning Communicable Disease Outbreaks.
Article 14 paragraph (1) states that anyone who intentionally blocks outbreaks of epidemics as stipulated in this Law, is threatened with imprisonment for 1 year and / or a maximum of Rp1 million.
Article 14 paragraph (2) states that whosoever due to his mistake results in obstruction of epidemic prevention as stipulated in this Law, is threatened with imprisonment for up to 6 months and / or fines of a maximum of Rp500 thousand.
Article 14 paragraph (3) states that the criminal act referred to in paragraph 1 is a crime and the criminal act referred to in paragraph 2 is a violation.
The rise of the covid-19 rejection case in the community made the police have to intervene and helped deliver the body to the cemetery.
The police will continue to appeal to the public so that the rejection of the co-19 corpse does not occur again.
As humans, the attitude of humanizing fellow human beings is something that should be done. If not one of the medical personnel and not part of the security forces. Let’s help Indonesia by not being selfish with each other. Let’s embrace each other, work hand in hand and eliminate discrimination. Being a covid-19 victim was a disaster. If you can choose, nobody wants to get the plague. For that, let’s do all the government’s appeal, both health protocols and suggestions not to reject covid-19’s body.
