Islam teaches peace and nonviolence. As Islam in its literal meaning comes from the word “salam” which means peace, safety, and submission. Salam and Islam both meet inviting tranquility, security, serenity and peace. The public was also invited to continue to moderate Islam and reject the provocation of the caliphate.

If you look at the facts in Pancasila, there is nothing that contradicts the teachings of Islam, but Pancasila guarantees the rights of Muslims in worship. Indirectly, Pancasila has collected Islamic values, because it aims to provide security and comfort for Muslims to worship.

If seen or understood more deeply, the points of Pancasila really do not contradict Islamic teachings.

The first precept, the Almighty Godhead. This first precept is clearly in perfect agreement with the spirit of the oneness of God which is echoed in various verses of the Koran.

The second precept, fair and civilized humanity. If we reject the spirit contained in the second principle of Pancasila, it means that automatically we refuse to have good relations with humans in a civilized and moral manner. In the Koran, there are many verses that talk about the position of humans and humanity.

The third precept, the unity of Indonesia. In the Koran, unity is the most important principle in building a community or a country.

The fourth precept, society led by the wisdom of wisdom in representative deliberations. This makes an affirmation to always consult to reach a consensus. Especially with regard to the interests of the wider community.

The fifth precept, justice for all Indonesian people. If they reject Pancasila, it means they are ignoring justice and defending injustice. The fifth precept in Pancasila highly upholds justice, a spirit that is always echoed by the Koran in its various verses.

So as Muslims today, we have to be smart in understanding Islam, don’t want to be matched by narratives that are unclear and even misleading, such as radical and provocative ideas. In fact, Pancasila is final, at its time it has been thoroughly discussed. Therefore, Pancasila and Islam go hand in hand and now is the time for people including the millennial generation to unite against the virus of radicalism that often provokes society for the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia.
