The implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) in Java and Bali will take effect from January 11, 2021. The PPKM was enforced because the number of corona patients has increased again in recent days. The community is expected to obey the rules, because this restriction aims to make them safe from the covid-19 virus attack.
After the year-end holidays, the number of corona patients has increased again to 10,000 people per day. This increase is certainly a headache, because the hospital is back full of patients. Meanwhile, people who have been infected with the corona and do not get a room are forced to isolate independently. In fact, hospital care is more intensive, because they have ventilators and other supporting equipment.
To cope with the spike in patients again, the government re-imposed PPKM for 14 days, starting on January 11, 2021. This restriction was carried out to reduce the mobility of the community, because they were obliged to work from home 75% of their work quota. There is also a curfew, so people who wander around will cancel it.
In addition, the children still go to school at home in this second semester. Mothers also have to shop quickly, because supermarkets are only open until 7 pm. This closing hour also applies to restaurants and cafes, while the delivery order service also adjusts.
People should not be angry when there is another PPKM, because it is not the government’s intention to lock them up at home. However, these restrictions are well-intentioned, because if mobility is reduced, there will be no crowds, thereby reducing transmission of corona. Even though there will be a covid vaccination soon, we must adhere to health protocols and must not break them.
Never remove the mask when outside the house and always wash your hands or use a hand sanitizer. Health protocols do look trivial, but they have a big effect in resisting the covid-19 virus attack. Don’t be careless at all, because if you already get corona, it will be difficult. Especially if you don’t have a BPJS card, the medicines and maintenance costs are very expensive.
DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan stated that if the situation was still not conducive, then PPKM could be enforced again after January 25, 2021. Meanwhile on the stock market, PPKM did not cause the index to drop drastically. Even the status is still green, with an increase of 1%. PPKM policy has proven not to hit the stock market badly, so that the economy is still stable. Even the IMF predicts Indonesia will enter the positive zone, and there is an increase of 4.8% in a year.
PPKM is an effective way to prevent the increase in the number of corona patients, because people often do activities at home. Don’t complain about this rule, because if it is followed with discipline, it will only last for 2 weeks. PPKM is the government’s way of protecting the safety of its people from the covid-19 virus attacks, so we must obey it.
