The implementation of the XX National Sports Week (PON) in 2020 is in sight. The public, the Government, and event organizers were also asked to increase synergy so that the PON XX can run smoothly.
P ekan Sports National (PON) is a championship sport national multieven in Indonesia are held every 4 years by the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI). As is well known, the Province of Papua won the bidding to host the XX PON organizers by 2020 beating Bali and Aceh at the KONI Annual Members’ Meeting.
PON host has been set through the decree of the Minister of Youth, Sport No. 0110 2014 S ebanyak 6,232 athletes and 3,121 people official, as well as the HR 2860 Games will be present in the XX PON. PON XX has also been budgeted in the Papua Province APBD for Fiscal Year 2020 in the amount of 2 trillion rupiah. Previously, President Joko Widodo had signed Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 1/2020 regarding the Acceleration of Supporting the Implementation of the PON 2020 and XVI / 2020 National Paralim Week in Papua to support the smooth running of the event.
To find out all the preparations and readiness that have been carried out, the Panja Team for the preparation of XX XX PON in Papua Papua , House of Representatives Commission X led by PON Committee Chairperson Abdul Fikri Faqih has conducted monitoring regarding the readiness of all the needs of XX PON implementation in Papua. The DPR RI Panja Team also visited several venues that will be used in the national sports event. The Chairperson of the PON Committee , Abdul Fikri Faqih, appreciated various preparations for the XXth PON in 2020 .
On the other hand, the implementation of PON XX in Papua is expected to have a double effect on the Papua Province, both in the economic, social and human resources sectors of Papua. The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Welfare (Menko PMK), Muhadjir Effendy, said the Bangkit Papua Stadium, which will be used for the opening and closing ceremony for Papua PON XX, has finished 100 percent. The multiplier effect must be felt by the people of Papua with the existence of PON and the construction of various infrastructures.
In addition to the efforts of the Central and Regional Governments to prepare everything for the success of PON XX Papua, Papuan community support is also widely visible. It mentions that s ne of the real form of the contribution they are to organize Jayapura Art Festival 2020 ( Jafes ) with the theme ‘Awakening Art in the City and County of Jayapura, free Intercourse Ward, Drugs and Alcohol PON XX 2020 Towards Safe and Successful “.
