MSME entrepreneurs are assisted by the government through the Job Creation Law. In this law, there is a guarantee for them so that their business will rise from the downturn after being hit by the corona storm. The application of this law in the field will make business permits easier and the costs are free.
UMKM entrepreneurs are the ones who have fallen from the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, because people’s purchasing power has decreased drastically. They are confused about how to survive in the midst of uncertainty, because they have no other job. If this continues, it will be very dangerous, because it increases the poverty rate in Indonesia.
The government tries to help small entrepreneurs with the Job Creation Law, because this law has a cluster of MSMEs. In this cluster there are various articles in their favor. So that the business can get up again and generate quite a lot of profits.
General Secretary of the PP Muhammadiyah Economic and Entrepreneurial Council, Mukhaer Pakkana, stated that the Job Creation Law provides legal assistance and protection to MSME actors. According to him, this regulation is eagerly awaited by the public. Because there is real business protection and access.
Legal protection is needed by MSME entrepreneurs. Because the majority of them do not understand the law in Indonesia, and are unable to hire legal advisors or lawyers. Because the cost is very expensive. So that the protection guaranteed by the government makes MSME players very helpful.
Mukhaer continued, the Job Creation Law helps the little people. So that the government does not only help conglomerates. In that sense, President Jokowi applies the five principles of Pancasila, namely social justice for all Indonesian people. All parties will be assisted, regardless of the background.
Assistance from the government, according to Mukhaer, should also be supplemented with money for additional capital. Because it is no secret that many entrepreneurs are having financial difficulties during the pandemic, even closing their businesses because there are few customers. With this assistance, it is hoped that small entrepreneurs can rise again.
The government has actually provided assistance to MSME entrepreneurs with a capital injection of 2.4 million, which was transferred directly to the recipient’s account. Thus minimizing corruption, because there is no third party to take care of it. It is hoped that this assistance will be sufficient, so that entrepreneurs can work independently.
Why is the assistance for UMKM entrepreneurs in the form of a law, not the provision of phase 2 capital? Because the government is trying to provide a hook, not fish. If only fish are given, aka funds, it is feared that they will not be processed into a productive business. However, with the ease of doing business through the Job Creation Law, business will run smoothly.
Ease of doing business is the ease of obtaining a license. Profits do not have to seek expensive HO permits, because the business will be assessed based on risk. When they open a small-scale, low-risk business, they only need a business license number, and it can be a maximum of 7 working days.
This permit is also 100% free, so that UMKM entrepreneurs who have low capital need not be afraid of having to pay a fortune for a piece of business legality. The Job Creation Law really makes it easier for small businesses, because 90% of businesses in Indonesia are carried out by MSME players. So that the government is serious about helping the smooth running of their business.
The government also helps MSMEs with assistance in the form of entrepreneurship training and marketing. Business people will get new insights, how to market products, for example by digital marketing, creating sites for promotion, and others. So that they get new selling knowledge.
The existence of the Job Creation Law is truly beneficial for UMKM entrepreneurs, because they make it easier for them to obtain business permits. The legality is also free of charge, so that little business people are really helped. Let’s support the Job Creation Law so that its implementation in the field runs smoothly.
