The Urgency of Post-Democratic Unity

April 17 has passed, but all the noise seems to have not receded when the two sides claim each other for his victory, even though based on the results of his internal survey. Volunteers and sympathizers of fanatical supporters of one of the camps, are still warmly voicing their opinions on social media.
Those who are not ready to lose from the contestation then sue, and the worst is to consider the occurrence of fraud in the General Election so that it is not legitimate with the results of the vote count conducted by the General Election Commission (KPU).
Various slander and delegitimation efforts for the KPU certainly become news that worsens the democratic atmosphere in Indonesia, hardline supporters claim mutual results that favor their champion, this must certainly be muted, because after all we have to wait for the official announcement from the KPU.
The opinion of the KPU was fraudulent and was also compounded by some supporters who wanted a repeat election with the threat of mass mobilization. Even though he already knew about the mechanism for channeling dissatisfaction through the pathway established by Bawaslu, which would then recommend to the KPU or to judicial institutions such as the Constitutional Court or other judicial institutions.
The end of the simultaneous election on April 17, 2019, is expected to be able to reunite all the differences that had tapered during the campaign period, a sense of unity can be started by inviting friends to just have a casual chat, greet each other without offending political ideology or just having a coffee together at the end week without discussing sentiments about politics.
Of course it would be wiser if the supporters who lost gave good congratulations either directly or through social media, without including the hashtags that were difficult to read, of course we would have to ask ourselves, should I despise or demean friends who are defeated in the Presidential Election. As the proverb of Java wins tanpo ngasorake.
But the saying seems to only be a breeze then, when some religious leaders actually provocatively insult and invite their followers to insult improperly.
RI KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan explained that even the errors found were not many. That is, only nine polling stations out of 810,000 polling stations spread throughout Indonesia.
He also emphasized that there were no errors in inputting data that were done intentionally to benefit certain presidential and vice-presidential candidates. This can be proven because data input errors occur on parties 01 and 02.
In this case the role of the community certainly oversees the performance of the KPU, not necessarily by de-legitimizing the KPU with various slanders, threats and unfounded allegations. Because it has the potential to damage the sense of unity that exists in Indonesia.
Whoever the president is, then he is the president of the people’s choice which incidentally we believe that the voice of the people is the voice of God. Where the Pancasila democracy system that has become the breath in Indonesia must be upheld with the spirit of unity, without mutual criticism and differentiation between one another.
At the moment maintaining unity is one of the hardest struggles, various provocation efforts are still passing through various media, the ustadz bersorban still lightly deliver lectures that are far from being cool. And this is spread in the universe of cyberspace.
We certainly do not want Indonesia to be a country that is far from being peaceful, not until a day’s election can damage relations between citizens for years.
Indonesia deserves the highest number of Muslims in the world, indicating that democracy does not conflict with Islamic law and Islamic law does not conflict with democracy.
If the community encounters fraud, it would be nice to submit it to the Bawaslu through a predetermined procedure, not necessarily upload it on social media so that netizens will be prone to receive news that is not necessarily true.
The 2019 election contestants should also protect themselves from doing excessive things, maturity in addressing differences is one way to make the 3rd Sila “Indonesian Unity” possible.
Elections that exist in Indonesia should be a democratic party where the community is not divided even though there are different choices, besides that it is appropriate for the candidate leaders or representatives of the people to become role models rather than strengthen hostilities.
