With Strong Determination, Papua Ready to Finalize The Preparation for XX PON 2020

The seriousness of Papuans welcomes PON XX in 2020. Shows that Papua is Indonesia, Peaceful Papua, and Great Papua and determined to achieve Success Towards a More Advanced Indonesia.
Euphoria ahead of the National Sports Week has been felt, although it is still long. The city designated for this grand event is Papua. Yes, the Earth of Paradise is synonymous with various conflicts of interest and is still struggling to advance with the Unitary Republic of Indonesia, showing a strong determination to complete all preparations to welcome the national grand sporting event.
Based on the plan, the Opening of PON XX will be held on October 20, 2020. which is located at the Bangkit Papua Stadium, Jayapura Regency. Whereas the closing ceremony was scheduled for November 12, 2020.
According to the Deputy Chairman of the PB PON XX Papua 2020 Daily, Yusuf Yambe Yabdi, his party continues to work hard to complete the needs in all aspects, including sports (sports). According to him, PB PON has confirmed the work achievements of its members in preparing work plans for the next eight months. It will also carry out a number of mapping challenges and obstacles that will be overcome before the sporting party is officially opened. The implication is the acceleration of preparation.
According to Yusuf, the reconsolidation which also involved all the heads of fields was crucial, namely to calculate the required budget funds. Which, the budget covers the field of competition, facilities and infrastructure, equipment and supplies, accommodation, consumption and the health sector.
To that end, PB PON will boost the acceleration of preparations until June 2020. Related agencies are being cooperated in order to complete all the needs in each field. Yusuf said that what had been completed was in the organizational field. The coordinator is compiling the cost needs based on the survey. He added, that it was only a matter of writing to the Inspectorate to become a reservoir of verification of the proposals of each coordinator in each field.
He detailed 37 sports and 56 disciplines to be conveyed to the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, who was subsequently submitted to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to be signed.
Previously, PB PON XX Papua, was reported to have finished the match schedule in all clusters, both in the Timika, Merauke and Kota and Jayapura Districts. Furthermore, now just waiting for the certainty of the completion of the venue from the government, namely from the Sports Department and from the Ministry of Public Works and every district or city that built the venue. Because that is what will be reconciled.
Yusuf stated PB PON is targeting registration of participants in each Sports will be opened in April 2020. Of course after the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe determined the number of sports in the three clusters, which also led the Chef de Mission (CdM) meeting.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the KONI Achievement Development Center, Suwarno said there was still a lot of homework that had to be completed by PB PON Papua. He claimed that there had been a lot of progress, but he still needed acceleration and intense coordination from each field. Specifically in the field of competition, there are up to 37 sports and will be held anywhere. For example, Merauke and Timika and Jayapura for their preparation, he added.
On the other hand, Deputy Governor of Papua Klemen Tinal has claimed preparations for the holding of the PON XX 2020 in Papua are going well. And the host was declared ready to hold the 4th annual event. With regard to accommodation for athletes and officials who are believed to be the minimum number of around 12,000, he said it was OK.
Nevertheless, Klemen admitted that the hotels in Jayapura had not been able to meet the needs of rooms during the PON, but the PON Large Committee (PB) had found a way out, namely using residents’ homes. Although he will use the residents’ homes, he still ensures that the services provided will be according to the standards set by KONI.
Papua’s loyalty to the Republic of Indonesia has no doubt. In order to show that Papua is Indonesia, this region has sparked high enthusiasm for holding the 4-year routine. Not denying, the various miserable dynamics have gradually disappeared with time, although it still feels to be used as a shared lesson, however, their enthusiasm to continue racing forward with the archipelago is increasingly felt. Moreover, this PON activity will determine the image of the archipelago, especially Papua in the eyes of the world.
