Riots reoccurred in Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency, Papua. Demonstrations were held by students in Wamena on Monday (9/23/2019) which led to riots. Reported by a number of media, demonstrators behaved anarchistly to burn down people’s homes, government offices, PLN and several community kiosks. The protests that led to the riots were allegedly triggered by the words of a teacher’s racial tone towards his students in Wamena. This made the students angry until the news spread and triggered student protests in Wamena City.

After the riots, big questions arose throughout the minds of the people. Actually what is obtained from anarchist behavior carried out like this. When viewed again, this anarchist demonstration caused a number of facilities to be damaged, even paralyzed so that they could not be used again. In fact, local residents were forced to flee to safer places for fear that he and his family will be affected by the anarchist action.

Not to mention the loss arising from the side of the protesters, where their families will be very worried when they carry out demonstrations. From some of this, we can see that this kind of action is not a good way to solve existing problems.

For that, let us sit together in facing the existing problems. Remember, Indonesia is one and great because there is Papua in it. Without Papua, Indonesia will lose one of its organs. Papua, a country rich in natural resources and a black pearl for Indonesia. As a good society, let’s always think clearly in dealing with existing problems.
