Jakarta, CIDISS – Lately, there are a variety of events in Indonesia were sufficiently cause concern to the public. For example, a cases of terrorism and other ideologies as well as the emergence of the phenomenon of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT). The incident is surely unfortunate because there are many Indonesian youth who are involved in it. And, a very necessary act that we can do at this time is the role of the various parties to be more introspective with the developments in their environment.
Bombing and terrorist attack on January 14, 2016 at Plaza Sarinah, MH Thamrin Street, Central Jakarta, is one of the terror events that involve Indonesian youth. One culprit, Ahmad Muhazin who was born in 1990 or about 26 years old, was killed in the incident as the bomber. If he got a direction to do a positive things, Ahmad muezzin may be able to carve a brilliant achievement for himself or Indonesian at hi age.
In addition to the action of these examples, other negative phenomena such as the emergence of the Gerakan Fajar Nusantara (Gafatar), and LGBT groups have also influenced the younger generation of Indonesia. This is a sign that the younger generation of Indonesia become an easy target for such groups.
However, the momentum of the adjacent, Indonesian is also offered by the glorious achievements of the Indonesian youth. More recently, Indonesia Thomas Team came out as a badminton champion in the Asian zone qualifiers, 2016. In addition, there are also Indonesian racer Rio Haryanto who joined the Manor team to compete in Formula 1 racing car and become the first Asian racer in this prestigious event. Then, the young pianist from Bali Island, Joey Alexander managed to get one nomination Grammy Music Awards in 2016.
From the two facts above, we can conclude that rather than doing negative things, there is still a lot of positive things that can be done by the youth to pass the time of his youth. However, that the problem today is why they chose the wrong line to actualize himself?
Environmental factors that deter a person to actualize himself is a factor that cause them to be misguided. When family or immediate environment is not able to direct them to actualize, that’s where the influence of the terrorist groups, misguided ideology or the deviant group simply enter.
However, not only the family who are required to improve the oversight of the family members because many young people will go abroad to work. Thus, the responsibility to increase vigilance must now be carried by everyone. But it does not mean that we are mutually suspicious of our friend or neighbor, but rather recognize them. Thus, if there are suspicious signs, we should be able to quickly remind them to return to the right path. [DA]
