Zoning In Acceptance of New Students Step Acceleration of Equity Education
CIDISS. The government through the Ministry of Education and Culture made changes in the Acceptance of New Learners (PPDB), the regulation is written in Permendikbud Number 14 of 2018, this system requires a kindergarten and state government schools to receive prospective students living or domiciled in the radius of the closest zone schools, government-composed compositions are 90 percent of participants coming from the nearest radius domicile and 10 percent coming from outside the zoning. As reported by the edition of Dikbud Edition XII / July 2017, the selection of PPDB at junior and senior high school level will be implemented based on several criteria of consideration to be sorted according to priority scale.
The first requirement is the zoning distance of residence to the school, then the School view the age of prospective students during the admission process. Thus who is closer to the school from where he lives then he is more entitled to get education services from the school.
By having a system of zonation in PPDB 2018, passing grade is not so guidance in determining the target school, only the result of school exam result (for elementary school graduate) and SHUN National Examination Result Letter for SMP graduates will determine the class that will be followed by learners at the time of following the process of teaching and learning in school later.
This government policy is taken in order to accelerate the distribution of education throughout the country, because all this time students and parents are hunting for a favorite school so that children who are smart and rich will gather at one favorite school, in other incidents students who are not rich and not smart can go to the school and eventually choose a private school that costs relatively high, this policy will also make it easier for students who are less able to get a chance to get cheap education in public school government schools.
The zoning system is also believed to encourage the competence and creativity of educators in learning with heterogeneous student conditions, and assist local governments in providing more targeted assistance, both in the form of school infrastructure, as well as improving the quality of educators and education personnel.
