Through PYCH, President Jokowi and Head of BIN Encourage Papuan Youth to Become Agents of Change

The existence of the PYCH building, which was inaugurated some time ago by President Jokowi, is able to prove that Papuan youths can become agents of change that have a big impact on people’s welfare and are able to continue to oversee the creation of sophisticated technology and innovation.
The President of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has made an inauguration at the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) building in Jayapura City, last Tuesday, March 21, 2023. In his remarks, he expressed his extraordinary sense of pride because he was able to fulfill the requests of 23 young Papuans who had previously been invited to the Merdeka Palace.
In fact, President Jokowi is also very eager to be able to see again that there are facilities for the development of young talents in many other areas. He also asked for the construction of similar buildings in various other areas such as East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), West Papua, Maluku to Aceh.
The Head of State admitted that he was very proud, because the PYCH building has very complete facilities and is considered to be truly capable of developing young Papuan talents and at the same time advancing the welfare of the people in Cenderawasih Earth. Even inside, there are very complete facilities including the manufacture of laptops, mobile phones, podcast studios, photography studios to exhibitions of many MSME products in the Land of Papua.
On this occasion, the President then also emphasized that the development paradigm being carried out by the Government of Indonesia at this time is no longer a development that only focuses on certain regions or islands, such as in Java or is a Java-centric development.
Instead, according to President Jokowi, the development being carried out by the Government is now truly equitable for all Indonesian people and is Indonesia-centric.
Furthermore, he stated that the development of development in Cenderawasih could be said to be very fast and fast, because seeing how the development of the Trans Papua Road was so extraordinary and also the existence of other infrastructure developments that were able to open isolation in the Land of Papua while at the same time advancing society.
Meanwhile, in his remarks, the Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), Police General (Purn) Budi Gunawan said that indeed the Land of Papua itself has a very special place in President Jokowi’s heart so that its development continues to be paid attention to.
How could it not be, the article is that President Jokowi has never stopped paying attention to Papua from many sectors, starting from infrastructure development, human resource development (HR) which includes development for young Papuans to Papuan mothers.
The head of BIN then stated that President Jokowi would inaugurate the PYCH building as a legacy for the people of Papua. Not only that, but the building also exists as an answer to the needs of young people from Bumi Cenderawasih regarding a place to be able to express and channel their interests and talents.
Gen. Pol (Purn) Budi Gunawan added that at that time, there were still as many as 23 young Papuans who were met by President Jokowi at the State Palace and had a strong commitment to be able to continue to build a center for young Papuan talent for the welfare of the people, but now there are more more than 12,800 Papuan youth members and will continue to grow and engage in various fields ranging from education, the economy to MSMEs.
He then also conveyed that now Papuan youth have enormous potential, they are even able to create sophisticated technology and innovation with their own hands.
How could it not be, because Papuan youths who are members of PYCH are able to create and develop digital information technology innovations such as smartphones and laptops with the TOP.ID brand. They also launched 4 (four) other sophisticated applications such as Papua Pacific Park, Clean Trash-Container, Village Assistant Application and Papua Talent Management (Mantap).
Furthermore, the Head of BIN, Jend. Pol (Purn) Budi Gunawan also said that the building must become a symbol of development in Papua and even be able to make young Papuans become agents of change. He added that the inauguration of the PYCH building was aimed at empowering young Papuan talents and at the same time being an economic driver.
It cannot be denied that indeed in the fast-paced development of the world of information and digital technology as it is today, it is indeed very necessary to have young talents who play a role in development and have creativity and can innovate. With the inauguration of the PYCH building as a means of developing young Papuan talents, it proves that they can become agents of change.
