Former OPM Army Chief of Staff Alex Makabori Agree that Papua is Safe and Peaceful Without OPM

Jayapura, CIDISS.CO – Former Army Chief of Staff for the Free Papua Organization (OPM) Alex Ruyaweri Yessi Makabori said he agreed that Papua would be safe and peaceful without OPM. The former OPM General admitted that he was only given false hopes and was lied to when he joined the OPM to guerrilla warfare in the middle of the forest.

This was explained by former OPM leader Alex Ruyaweri Yessi Makabori or better known as Alex Makabori when interviewed by the Matoa TV team in Jayapura, Monday 12/12/2022.

Alex Makabori said that the OPM members who killed civilians were irresponsible people and they had acted arbitrarily. Apart from that, they act without any command that regulates it.

Alex Makabori admits that he was stupid and heartless, so he ran away into the forest to fight for the fate of the Papuan people. He ran with his friends into the forest but was finally caught on March 3 2013, then the legal process took up to 2 years and 2 months, then he was caught again and finally in March 2022 he surrendered himself back to the Republic of Indonesia at the Obhe Reay May Hall, Jayapura Police, Jayapura District, Papua.

The man who served as Army Chief of Staff in the separatist group also submitted a number of pieces of evidence. These items were used by Alex when he still held important positions in the KKB Papua organizational structure.

The items are OPM documents, 20 bullets blank, and camouflage clothes with the rank of 3 star general.
