CIDISS – Surprising Fact from the province of Central Kalimantan. 1.2 million acres of forest in Central Kalimantan province have had approximately 112 private corporations of palm oil plantations as well as others. It is legal because they get permission from Central Government.
It is delivered by the Director of the contract the people of Borneo (KRB) Muhammad Lutharif. According to him, mastery of the forest legally in Central Kalimantan first acquired by PT Plantation XXVI in Palm oil plantations covering 25,102 hectares through DECREE number 383/KPTS-II/87, published on December 2, 1987, while the most recent mastery of forest in True Palm PT Surya with area of 5,122.73 hectares through DECREE No. 3/1/PKH/PMDN/2015.
Muhammad Lutharif took data from pages of the Ministry of Forestry and the environment. “Overall, the release of forest on the island of Borneo was the breadth of reach 2, 2 million hectares to private. The largest is reached in Central Kalimantan about 1,247,243 hectares, followed by the 494,474 acres in East Kalimantan, West Kalimantan about 273,271.8 hectares, and South Kalimantan about 215,659.1 acres, “said Lutharif as quoted in Antara News Kalteng.
He said for the control of forest areas in East Kalimantan around 56 permits a company, and it dominated by 40 Palm oil plantations and other commodity mix cocoa, chocolate coconut and palm oil. In West Kalimantan there are 24 permissions that include 23 oil palm companies and 1 mixed. While in South kalimantan there are 22 companies including 15 Palm oil, 1 coconut groves, 1 cane and two mixtures of rubber, oil palm and cocoa.
“The broad release of the forest on the island of Borneo reached the extent of City of Palangka Raya, which number two in the largest city of Indonesia. It was new to the company in the field of forestry, excluding mining or forestry and others, “says Lutharif.
