Condemns the KST Papua Terror Attack
By: Rebecca Marian)*
The public condemned the terror attacks carried out by the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST). The community supports the TNI/Polri to take firm action against these gangs who have undermined peace in Papua.
Peace in Papua can be damaged because of KST because they often create chaos and endanger the community. Therefore, in Bumi Cendrawasih there is a Nemangkawi Task Force assigned to hunt down KST troops and also members of the police who maintain the security of civilians. People are not surprised when there are police patrolling because that is their job.
The presence of the police in Papua is of course to maintain order, so that the community is safe from the tantrums of KST. However, KST instead threw a tantrum by attacking the Sugapa Police, on 18 November 2021 at 07.52 WITA. The shooting came from the tower 4 times, there were also shots from the back of the Polsek. This was stated by the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan.
Officers conducted a search using drones (for security reasons) and found 5 people carrying 3 firearms. After that, a follow-up examination was carried out. Although there were no fatalities or injuries, an investigation is still being carried out because KST is certainly dangerous and should not be detrimental to its behavior, both to civil society and the apparatus.
The pursuit was carried out by the Nemangkawi Task Force and a joint apparatus of the TNI and Polri, so that the perpetrators of the shooting were immediately caught. They must be held accountable for their actions. Don’t let KST roam around and shoot civilians and disrupt security in Papua.
Security is also carried out by the Sugapa police in several public places so that the public is awake, especially at the airport, because it is a vital point. Do not let KST members get caught running away via airplane or even terrorize the passengers there.
The public condemned the KST attack because they were so desperate to shoot at the police station. Though of course the authorities have more complete weapons, but instead attack arrogantly. The security forces are often attacked first because they represent the Indonesian government, which KST members hate.
The civilians also wondered why KST hated it so much that it attacked first. In fact, if there was a one on one shoot, they would definitely lose, due to lack of experience and weapons. But instead shoot brutally.
KST must be eradicated because it does not get any sympathy from the public. They do not want to be invited to defect because they are loyal and love the Republic of Indonesia. Why establish your own country if you are already a prosperous part of Indonesia? Moreover, under the administration of President Jokowi, the people of Papua have been given great attention and various infrastructures have been built for the sake of mutual prosperity.
KST has blinded his eyes because he thinks that Papua was colonized by Indonesia, even though at this time the Earth of Cendrawasih has been prospered by the central government. The proof is that special autonomy (Otsus) was extended in 2021 and the funds given were much larger. When there was Otsus volume 2, the right of citizens to have a voice was also taken into account, and indigenous Papuans (OAP) could lead their own regions because the governor, deputy governor, mayor and deputy had to be OAP.
Civilians in Bumi Cendrawasih supported the arrest of KST because they were tired of the various terrors carried out by the separatist group. Apart from physical terror (which scares away stray bullets) there is also mental terror, both in the real world and in cyberspace. It’s really troubling.
The KST attack on the Sugapa Police Sector was immediately condemned by the Indonesian people, especially Papuans, because the police are friends of the people. However, they were brutally attacked by KST. The separatist group continues to be hunted so that it will no longer disrupt peace on Cendrawasih Earth.
