The government under the leadership of President Prabowo continues to demonstrate its commitment to eradicating drugs for the sake of a healthy and productive future for the nation’s generation. Drugs have become a common enemy that threatens the quality of people’s lives and national security. Therefore, the government’s policy to strengthen drug eradication efforts in various sectors deserves appreciation. In this case, support from all elements of society, including law enforcement officers, is an important key to creating a drug-free environment.

One of the figures who is very committed in this matter is the Lampung Police Chief, Inspector General Helmy Santika. According to him, eradicating drugs is not just a routine task, but is part of the responsibility to protect society and the younger generation from the threat of drugs. He also emphasized that he is not playing around in exposing and continuously preventing and eradicating drug trafficking. This statement shows the firm attitude of the police who are ready to work hard to achieve the government’s vision in creating a drug-free Indonesia.

Lampung, as a gateway connecting Sumatra Island and Java Island, is one of the areas prone to drug trafficking. Every day, thousands of vehicles and passengers pass through this area, making it vulnerable to drug smuggling. Recently, the Lampung Police Narcotics Directorate Team succeeded in thwarting an attempt to smuggle 159 kilograms of marijuana at the Sea Port Interdiction, Bakauheni Port, South Lampung. This success is thanks to the synergy between the police and the community who provided valuable information in prevention efforts.

Police Chief Helmy emphasized the importance of the active role of the community in supporting drug eradication efforts in the Lampung region. He also hopes that all elements of society, including local governments and other institutions, can work together to strengthen supervision and protect the nation’s generation from the bad influence of drugs.

Not only in Lampung, drug eradication efforts are also being carried out at the Class I Cipinang Penitentiary (Lapas), which emphasizes its commitment to creating an environment free from all forms of crime, including drug trafficking. The Head of Cipinang Prison, EP Prayer Manik, conveyed the importance of integrity and professionalism of officers in carrying out their daily duties. Cipinang Prison has even held a Standby Roll Call and signed the Zero HALINAR Pledge (Cellphones, Illegal Levies, and Drugs), as a form of real commitment to keeping the prison safe and free from drug abuse and other illegal practices.

According to Prayer Manik, the Zero HALINAR Pledge is not merely a ceremony, but must be implemented in every action. According to him, this is a shared responsibility to keep the prison environment safe, free from drugs, and other illegal practices. This firm stance shows that officers at the prison level also play a role in ensuring that drug trafficking does not spread within the correctional environment, which is often the target of drug networks.

Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Cilacap Regency, Senior Commissioner Dinnar Widargo, also expressed his concern over the high threat of drugs in Indonesia. According to him, the strategic geographical location makes our country vulnerable to the smuggling of various types of narcotics. Indonesia, which is at the crossroads of international trade, is often an easy target for international drug networks.

Senior Commissioner Dinnar emphasized that to combat drugs, high integrity and faith are needed, especially for law enforcement officers (APH) who are at the forefront of combating drugs. According to him, support from APH is needed to show that President Prabowo’s Asta Cita program is not just a slogan, but has been and continues to be implemented in various real actions in the field. He hopes that all elements, both officers and the community, can work together in dealing with this serious problem.

The government through President Prabowo has a clear vision in realizing a drug-free Indonesia as part of an effort to create a superior generation. This commitment is also reflected in various policies taken by the government in strengthening drug eradication. One of them is by strengthening coordination between law enforcement agencies, including the BNN, Polri, and correctional institutions, to address this problem holistically.

This firm step and real policy of the government certainly requires full support from the community. The role of the community in providing information or reporting any suspicious activity related to drug trafficking is very important for the success of this step. This community support will strengthen the drug eradication efforts that have been initiated by the government, both in border areas, ports, and in correctional environments.

On the other hand, education and socialization about the dangers of drugs must also continue to be encouraged, especially among the younger generation. With a good understanding of the dangers of drugs, it is hoped that the younger generation can avoid the bad influence of drugs. Educational programs involving schools, campuses, and community groups will help create a generation that is aware of the dangers of drugs and ready to protect themselves and their surroundings.

In realizing the grand vision of a drug-free Indonesia, cooperation is needed from various parties, including the government, law enforcement officers, and the community. The firm steps taken by President Prabowo and his government provide hope for a better future for the nation’s generation. Let us all unite, give our full support, and continue to work together with law enforcement officers to eradicate drugs to the roots. Only with unity can we win the war against drugs and realize a healthy, safe, and highly competitive Indonesia in the future.
