President Prabowo Subianto has taken firm and comprehensive steps by instructing all relevant institutions to intensify efforts to eradicate drugs. The holistic approach promoted by the President shows the government’s strong commitment to combating drugs from various sides, from legal enforcement to public education.

In recent years, the drug problem has increasingly disturbed Indonesian society. Not only destroying the future of the younger generation, drug abuse has become a scourge that destroys family life and paralyzes society at various levels.

Responding to this threat, Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid said that President Prabowo had given very clear instructions to all levels of the cabinet to ensure that no party supports drug-related practices.

This directive includes instructions to the Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs (Kemenko Polkam), the Attorney General’s Office, and the National Police to work together in implementing drug eradication without compromise. Meutya emphasized that President Prabowo reminded all institutions to synergize well, and no party should back or cover up these illegal activities.

Prabowo’s message is a serious warning to all parties who have been playing around with drug crimes. Prabowo emphasized that the main victims of such practices are vulnerable and underprivileged communities. Therefore, there should no longer be any collusion behind the scenes. The President’s direction to “work together and unite against drugs” is the government’s main commitment to ending this crime in order to save the future of the nation.

As part of the national priority program, the National Police fully supports the eradication of drugs in order to realize one of the main points of the “Asta Cita” program initiated by President Prabowo. The Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Inspector General Karyoto, stated that the war on drugs is one of the main priorities of the National Police in supporting the program. The Asta Cita program promoted by the President aims to combat drug trafficking thoroughly, with a comprehensive approach from both the supply and demand sides.

According to Police Chief Karyoto, drug eradication cannot be done half-heartedly. Action needs to be carried out continuously, both from the supply and demand side, so that this crime can be suppressed more effectively and comprehensively. This two-sided approach allows the authorities to take firm action against perpetrators and drug dealer networks, while also providing education and prevention for the community so that they do not get caught up in drug abuse.

The Asta Cita program that is implemented seriously is not just a reactive response to drug crimes, but a proactive and strategic step that targets the root of the problem. By aligning the vision between the central government and law enforcement, drug eradication will have a stronger foundation and be able to cover various social, educational, and economic aspects.

One of the real manifestations of the implementation of the Asta Cita program at the regional level is the commitment shown by the Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir (PALI) Police under the leadership of the PALI Police Chief, AKBP Khairu Nasrudin. Through the Head of the Narcotics Unit, IPTU Aan Sriyanto, the PALI Police expressed their support for the program initiated by President Prabowo. This commitment is realized through strategic steps, such as intensive patrols, strict supervision, and public education regarding the dangers of drugs.

This step by the PALI Police reflects the successful implementation of a program that is not only top-down, but also has full support from the apparatus at the grassroots level. Through ongoing educational efforts, the PALI Police strives to increase public awareness of the dangers of drugs and to encourage the active role of the community in supporting the eradication of drugs. The community is urged to actively report if they know of any suspicious activities related to drugs around them. Eradicating drugs is not only the task of law enforcement officers, but also the responsibility of all components of society.

Solid collaboration between the police, local government, and the wider community is the key to success in combating drugs. The steps taken by the PALI Police in implementing this comprehensive approach should be appreciated as part of the commitment to making Indonesia a country free from drugs.

Under President Prabowo’s leadership, the government is determined to realize an Indonesia free from the threat of drugs. Through the holistic and strategic Asta Cita program, President Prabowo invites all components of the nation to work together to eradicate drugs from upstream to downstream. This program is not only an agenda of the central government, but has also been implemented in real terms in various regions, with full support from related institutions such as the National Police, the Attorney General’s Office, and the Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs.

The war on drugs is a tough task that cannot be done by one party alone. The government, law enforcement officers, and the community need to work together to face this challenge. Community support is essential, especially in providing information and reporting any suspicious activities related to drugs. Public awareness and participation are key factors in breaking the chain of drug trafficking.

Let’s support President Prabowo’s Asta Cita program as a form of shared responsibility for a better future. Through active participation, we can help create a safe environment free from the threat of drugs. Do not hesitate to report if you find suspicious activities around us. With synergy between the government and the community, we are sure that Indonesia can win the war against drugs and save the next generation of the nation from the trap of drugs.
