Less than 24 hours after the voting date was completed on April 17, 2019, Prabowo has stated that he succeeded in winning the presidential election defeating Jokowi, in fact he also referred to a figure of 62 percent victory, which was touted by Prabowo Subianto.
But based on an internal survey conducted by the National Winning Body (BPN) to correct the results of the version 02, and it turns out that the numbers have been corrected and must be included in reaching 54 percent of the votes. But when the recapitulation was completed, Prabowo actually got 44.50 percent of the vote.
Earlier the winning claim with a 62 percent incision was initially delivered by Prabowo during a speech at his residence, at that time he had claimed victory and proceeded with prostration of gratitude.
“I want to give an update that based on our real count, we are in 62% position. This is the result of realcount. In the position of more than 300 thousand polling stations. It has been confirmed by statisticians that this will not change much, “Prabowo said in his speech.
But what was said by Prabowo, turned out to be very different from the results of the KPU’s calculations and most of the national survey institutions. But Prabowo’s optimism to become President seems to cover up the results of the Situng KPU calculation.
“I will become president of all Indonesian people. For those of you who defend 01, you will still defend me, I will and have become the President of Indonesia, Indonesia that wins, Indonesia that is just and prosperous, Indonesia which is world-wide, Indonesia that no one will be hungry, Indonesia whose people can smile, “said Prabowo.
Related to the 62 percent calculation result for Prabowo’s victory – Sandiaga certainly gave rise to various responses, where volunteers from pair number 2 stated “No Accept” with the results announced by the KPU. Until finally the representative from faction 02 was not willing to sign the minutes, and stated that he would sue the results to the Constitutional Court (MK).
In fact, the 62 percent victory claim had become a controversy after the Democratic Party politician, Andi Arief, spoke about the ‘bald demon’ which was the origin of the information suplier that Prabowo – Sandiaga had won the presidential election with a score of 62 percent.
But after the 62 percent vote was believed to be invalid, Prablon Prabowo – Sandi then revised his winning claim to 54 percent, which certainly became a question mark for many people, especially statisticians who were concerned with politics.
The claim of victory was also responded to by political observer Emrus Sihombing, where he requested that the BPN explain its methodology, giving evidence and facts. If it’s real account, what percentage of the area has been done?
He also added, if Prabowo’s claim refers to the results of internal real count, Prabowo – the new password won at the polling station or the area that was the object of their calculation. Of course it is not logical if Prabowo claimed to win by only armed with the results of a partial count.
The BPN has also allowed 02 supporters to hold demonstrations, but remain in constitutional corridors and do not cause anything anarchic.
But one thing that needs to be highlighted is the difference in the results obtained by Prabowo, this is certainly a question whether observations from his campaign team are miscalculated, or because they are in a hurry to record only from areas where the vote is superior, even straightforwardly accusing several institutions survey, it aims to try to mobilize public opinion so that people can believe in the quick count they do.
It seems that they also have more confidence in BPN’s internal surveys, but distrust of the Constitutional Court is one triger from the emergence of the action May 22, 2019.
The inconsistency of the 02 faction’s statements and attitudes would certainly be a sign that they did not believe anyone, including their campaign team, even asking the KPU to stop the vote count before the fraud charges were resolved or acted upon.
If investigators 02 do not believe in the results of any institution, perhaps the desired solution by faction 02 is the form of the KPU itself, the vote is calculated by itself, the winner’s decision is declared independently. This seems very minimal risk of mutual claims of victory. But this can happen if the contestant does not have an opponent in participating in the contest of democracy.
