Central Sulawesi Police Department Office has released video footage that shows supporters of the Islamic State (IS) movement according combat training in forest of Poso. The certain place is not detected yet, but the footage showed they are moving into mountain range in South Poso Pesisir at end of October 2014.

“After examining the video footage repeatedly we are sure that it is genuine,” Central Sulawesi Police Chief Brig. Gen. Idham Azis said.

The supporters of IS has warning people who living in the mountains not to share any informations with the police on pain of death. The members of the gang are recorded stating that they have joined IS movement.

Idham believed the count of members are around 20 people and police has pursuiting them but had not yet positively identified the exact location. He added the IS supporters are arming with guns and homemade bombs. Operation Camar Maleo 2015 the joint-security effort comprising militery and police personnel has been ongoing since January.

Poso was suffered to sectarian conflict from 1998 to 2000, based on report the conflict has caused over 2,000 people perished, which ended in 2001 through a peace agreement known as the Malino Declaration.

Beside of that, new radical group as known Jamaah Ansharut Tauhid (JAT) led by Abu Bakar Ba’asyir established headquarters in Gunung Biru, Tamanjeka, Poso Pesisir.
