10th WWF Introduces Subak as Water Management Based on Local Wisdom
Nusa Dua – Bali has a water management pattern called Subak which was introduced at the 10th World Water Forum (WWF). Subak with strong nuances of local wisdom shows the principle of togetherness to improve the welfare of the entire community in a sustainable water management system.
This was conveyed by the Director General of Culture of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Hilmar Farid at a press conference at the 10th WWF Media Center accompanied by the Director General of IKP Usman Kansong.
“The Subak system in Bali or traditional water management system is deeply rooted in the philosophy and culture of indigenous peoples, and is closely related to the Spice Route. This is in line with WWF’s main theme, namely “Water for Shared Prosperity,” said Hilmar Tuesday (21/5)
