Slowly but surely, the people affected by the Rempang Eco-City investment continue to be provided with understanding and literacy to be relocated to temporary housing that has been prepared by the Government. The residents’ willingness is inseparable from BP Batam’s commitment to continue to take a persuasive approach during the socialization and data collection by the task force team.

This is in line with the instructions of the Head of BP Batam, Muhammad Rudi, who asked the data collection team to prioritize humane actions and persuasive communication while in the field.

Currently, outreach and data collection are still ongoing. The good news is that the number of residents willing to occupy temporary housing while replacement houses are being built continues to increase.

Muhammad Rudi said that his party would continue to work optimally until the investment could be realized. This includes maximizing outreach to communities around the Rempang area so that no community is harmed.

As has been stated on several occasions, the number of people affected by the development of Rempang Eco-City covering an area of 2,000 hectares is 700 families.

In accordance with the direction of the Head of BP Batam, humane actions and persuasive communication are important keys to successful development. So, residents will open themselves to receive it.

Previously, the development of the Rempang area had the potential to absorb thousands of workers from the local community, which was also able to improve their welfare by increasing residents’ income. The surrounding community will be affected by the increase in tourism, services, and young people will find it easier to find work in these companies.

Meetings are also continuing to be held between the Minister of Investment and Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), Bahlil Lahadalia, with figures in Rempang to obtain a mutually beneficial solution between the community and the company. In the meeting that was held, the Government reiterated its strong commitment to continuing to protect all the rights of local residents, including cultural rights and the birthright of residents who have lived there for generations.

With the investment coming in to develop Rempang Eco-City, it is hoped that it will become a new economic driver for Indonesia in the future. So, automatically the economy of people who run businesses such as Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) will be positively affected.

It is known that the investment value that will go into this project is 381 trillion Rupiah, which makes Rempang Eco-City able to provide escalation to improve the quality of life and also the welfare of all the surrounding communities.

In fact, at the time of implementation and even at the development stage, it is estimated that the community’s economy will continue to be boosted by various activities carried out by resident MSMEs. Head of the Public Relations (PR), Promotion and Protocol Bureau, Ariastuty Sirait, explained that as the investment progresses, there will be many very positive impacts received by the community, including the entire community in the Barelang area and the Indonesian people in general.

The development of the Rempang area itself will be able to improve the investment climate and also the country’s economic potential in the future. Investors will have more confidence in Indonesia and it will become a world investment magnet.

On the other hand, if the National Strategic Project is hampered, it will also result in a lot of poor performance and a series of other negative impacts received by society. Therefore, the public should be able to observe everything very wisely.

Don’t let the public be easily consumed by any issues that spread on social media, especially if the issues that are raised cannot yet be clarified as to their truth, because distribution via social media and digital space is very vulnerable to hoax news and provocation from irresponsible parties. .

The Governor of the Riau Islands (Kepri), Ansar Ahmad, said that the development of the Rempang area in the Batam Free Trade and Free Port Area (KPBPB) would be a new engine for Indonesia’s economic growth. According to him, Riau Islands is an archipelagic province with a very strategic position, namely it is located at one of the four choke points for world trade and is one of the four important transportation routes for Indonesia.

Therefore, he strongly supports the launch of the development of the Rempang KPBPB Batam area with the hope that it will be able to create a conducive investment climate and development of Rempang in the future. Apart from that, it will also pay attention to environmental conditions and regulate all aspects to create a new city that is green, comfortable and attracts foreigners to live in this area.
