The Manado Archipelago Student Dormitory (AMN) continues to encourage the creation of unity and oneness among youth as a very important force for realizing the nation’s progress.
Because, in fact, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) has a very diverse society from one another. So this can actually be a challenge or strength in itself if it is managed well.
If the differences that occur in society do not influence the attitude and feeling of continuing to be united, then it is not impossible that the diversity of the Indonesian nation will become an extraordinary force for the progress of this country.
Therefore, the Government of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) through the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) then initiated the development of AMN, including the one located in Manado, with the aim of encouraging a sense of unity and oneness among the youth, thereby creating extraordinary strength to realize the nation’s progress.
Plt. Deputy VI for Coordination of National Unity at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Janedjri M. Gaffar, revealed that one of the important assets in realizing an Indonesia that is peaceful, advanced and modern and anti-radicalism is the existence of national unity and integrity.
All parties should not be careless and feel that Indonesian unity is certain and will always be intact and sustainable without any efforts for development and so on. All elements of society must have the same perception, namely that national unity and unity is important to continue to experience development so that it continues to grow.
The Republic of Indonesia has long been a struggle for the founding fathers of the nation and freedom fighters because they were all aware that society in Indonesia consists of various tribes, religions, groups, races and cultures.
Only with the ideology of Pancasila as the basis of the state and national ideology, and by upholding the motto Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, will all parties be able to continue to build ties of brotherhood and uphold national unity and integrity in realizing prosperity for all Indonesian people.
Regarding handling radicalism and terrorism, the government through the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs together with all other levels of security forces such as the Indonesian National Police (Polri), Indonesian National Army (TNI), State Intelligence Agency (BIN), National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) and ministries and other related institutions, both have a very high commitment to carrying out various preventive and handling steps.
One of them, BIN initiated the development of AMN Manado which makes young people actively involved in finding the best solutions to continue to strengthen unity and integrity, which can also deal with the problem of terrorism and radicalism in Indonesia.
Radicalism itself is a movement that really wants to make drastic changes to the social and political system, even by using various methods, including extreme violence. Moreover, radicalism is also an action or understanding that has very complex roots and networks.
Because radicalism is very complex, it is certainly not enough if the approach is only to take legal and intelligence action, or other repressive actions. However, you must participate with an approach of national insight, national vigilance and national unity and integrity in a persuasive manner with the instruments of Pancasila ideology and moderation as AMN Manado.
Regarding the existence of the Nusantara Student Dormitory in Manado, the Governor of North Sulawesi (Sulut) Province through the North Sulawesi Provincial Secretary (Sekprov) Steve Kepel also hopes that the construction of the AMN will contribute positively to the development of human resources (HR) there.
The construction of AMN Manado itself is not only physical work, but can also be a symbol of very strong commitment from various parties to develop young Indonesian human resources.
Through this dormitory, it provides a very conducive environment for students from various regions in the country to study, be creative and collaborate.
The building, which stands on 5 hectares of land, is a very significant step in fully supporting the nation’s vision of creating a young generation that is superior and ready to compete even at the national and international level.
Meanwhile, the Director of Strategic Infrastructure, Directorate General of Human Settlements, Ministry of PUPR, Ir. Essy Asiah said that the aim of developing AMN Manado was as a forum to unite all students from various different ethnicities, languages, cultures and religions from various regions in Indonesia.
Those who come from various universities will unite in the same forum, namely the Nusantara Student Dormitory in Manado in order to prepare human resources of quality, integrity and national character.
Encouragement for the spirit of unity and oneness, especially among youth, came in a big way from AMN Manado. Because with this attitude, it becomes a very powerful force to realize the nation’s progress.
