Appreciation of the Government’s Performance in Increasing IKN Development

IKN Development become a significant improvement in government performance regarding IKN development. With various strategic steps and investments, the government has succeeded in creating positive momentum to accelerate the growth of this sector.

The Head of the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN) said that the development of IKN development  until the end of January 2024 was running in accordance with the target that had been set  , namely 71.47 percent of the target set in stage one . 

Head of OIKN Bambang Susantono  said that the first phase of IKN construction consisted of four groundbreakings  which were carried out in September, November, December 2023 and January 2024. This proves that his party is committed to continuing to work to make IKN a liveable and lovable city . city.

This is proven by the government’s concrete steps to achieve this goal, such as increasing technological accessibility, increasing investment in research and development, and strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors.

Based on data obtained from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR),  the progress of IKN development is increasing.  Minister of PUPR, Basuki Hadimuljon,  said that the overall progress of IKN development phase 1 had reached 71.47%. The areas included in phase 1 of construction are the Presidential Palace and ceremonial grounds which are 54.07% complete, the Phase 1 Axis of Nationality is 96.41% complete, and the Sepaku Semoi Dam is 100% complete.

The government has deployed the IKN project to ensure that a number of projects are completed as quickly as possible so that the Independence Ceremony can be held on August 17 2024. The area in front of the Presidential Palace is the National Axis area which will later become the venue for the Independence Ceremony , which is currently covered in green grass. Then later it will also be surrounded by green and beautiful trees.

Increasing government performance in IKN development has had a significant positive impact on society. Increasing technological accessibility opens up new opportunities for people to access information and education. Apart from that, the growth of the technology industry also creates new jobs and produces a more dynamic economic ecosystem.

Chairman of the IKN Infrastructure Development Implementation Unit, Danis H. Sumadilaga, said that several of IKN’s basic infrastructure will primarily be completed in 2024, namely to meet the need for clean water and several road networks to improve connectivity to the IKN area.

The IKN Nusantara Core Central Government Area (KIPP) is said to have reached 70%. President Joko Widodo himself targets being able to hold the Independence ceremony this year at IKN. Meanwhile, the construction of IKN phase 1 is targeted for completion this year.

Apart from development progress, it was recorded that the total investment entered in stage one reached IDR. 47.5 with the portion of private investment reaching IDR 35.9 trillion and development at KIPP has made good progress, namely the construction of the Presidential Palace and Ceremonial Field which has reached 54.7 percent.

OIKN is optimistic that more investors will invest long-term capital in the development of Nusantara City in 2024, with a target of approximately IDR 100 trillion by the end of this year from the private sector and state-owned companies.

Key achievements in IKN development are indicators of the government’s success. Increasing integrated infrastructure, arranging adequate green areas, and building various public facilities is clear evidence that the government is serious about realizing IKN as a modern and competitive administrative center.

The government is of course building the capital city  of the New Archipelago with careful planning based on research and studies, he said, and discussions with various experts in their fields so that people living in the capital city of the new nation of Indonesia feel at home and comfortable.
