The 2024 Pilkada is just around the corner, and the success of this democratic event depends heavily on the active participation of the entire community. Not only the government and election organizers, the community also plays a key role.
Without maximum community involvement, the hope of getting a quality leader could be threatened. Therefore, we make the 2024 Pilkada a success by actively voting and participating in an honest and fair election process.
Chairman of Commission II of the Kapuas Regency DPRD, Ahmad Baihaq, emphasized the importance of active participation from the entire community. He invited everyone to take part in the Pilkada by giving their votes. Baihaq believes that the 2024 simultaneous Pilkada will determine the direction of progress and prosperity of Kapuas Regency. Therefore, the community is expected to play an active role in overseeing and implementing this Pilkada so that it can run successfully.
Baihaq stated that the future progress and prosperity of Kapuas Regency depends on the results of the upcoming Pilkada. Given the importance of this Pilkada, he invited all parties to work together and play an active role in making it a success. He hopes that the public can understand how crucial their role is in determining the future of the region through democratic elections.
On the other hand, the Kapuas Regency General Election Commission (KPU) has begun the process of registering voting rights for the 2024 Pilkada. This data collection aims to ensure that all citizens who have the right to vote register correctly.
In this process, the KPU synchronized voter data with the 2024 Election data which was conducted last March. Of course, there will be data adjustments because some voters may have died or there are new voters who meet the requirements.
Bangka Belitung KPU member, Deni, said that the success of the Simultaneous Pilkada requires proactive participation from the community. He conveyed this in an interactive dialogue with the Babel KPU on RRI PRO 1 Sungailiat.
He emphasized that the Pilkada is a momentum for all of us to participate, not only for the KPU and Bawaslu, but also the wider community. Deni appealed to residents who have not registered as voters to immediately report to the KPU or to the local village and sub-district offices.
Currently, the KPU is carrying out the matching and research (coklit) stage of voter data carried out by the Voter Registration Committee (Pantarlih) officers. Deni appealed to residents to be open to receiving Pantarlih officers who will visit the homes of prospective voters.
Public participation in providing the necessary data will greatly determine the success of the implementation of the upcoming Pilkada. The smoothness of this coklit process is one of the main keys so that the Pilkada can run well and smoothly.
The support and expectations of the community are also very important in making the Pilkada a success. Danang, a resident of Bukit Betung Village, expressed his hope that the implementation of the Pilkada can run smoothly. He hopes that the KPU and Bawaslu, as well as the organizing officers under them, can carry out their duties well according to the expectations of the community. Full support from the community is needed, including in helping the smooth running of the verification task.
While attending the Village Participatory Supervision activity in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections with the theme “Honest Regional Elections, Prosperous People”, the Expert Staff of the Mayor of Metro Lampung for Economics, Finance, and Development, AC Yuliawati said that realizing a democratic, honest and integrity-based Regional Election does not only rely on the organizers, but also all parties, both from political parties, participants, community groups and voters.
She also emphasized that our collective role is not only in providing voting rights, but also in maintaining a safe and comfortable situation during the Pilkada. Yuliawati emphasized the importance of the role of new voters in creating a conducive situation.
Member of the Lampung Province Bawaslu, Hamid Badrul Munir, explained that the 2024 Pilkada stages, especially in Metro City, have so far gone smoothly. He reminded the public that the Pilkada is a determinant of the future direction of the region. Therefore, he invited the public not to be apathetic towards politics and to actively participate in the Pilkada process.
The success of the 2024 Pilkada is highly dependent on the active participation of the community. From the voter registration process to election day, each stage requires maximum involvement from all parties.
This call is not just a call from the government or election organizers, but a shared hope for a better future. Let us all play an active role in the 2024 Pilkada, use our voting rights wisely, and participate in overseeing an honest and fair election process.
