A crew of helicopters carrying groceries named Salman Wahid received unpleasant treatment, namely being attacked by unknown persons (OTK) who were suspected of being part of KST, because only KST was a group that liked to carry out brutal attacks. Whatever the motives of the OTK in carrying out the attack are certainly not justified.

Inspector General of Police Mathius Fahiri as the Head of the Papua Police confirmed this incident, he said that a helicopter crew carrying food was attacked by OTK in Oksibil, Bintang Mountains, Papua Mountains Province. The helicopter crew was attacked shortly after arriving at the local gold mine, Mining 88 Oksibil.

Salman Wahid said that he would transport food from Tanah Merah, Boven Digul Regency, South Papua. Suddenly four OTKs came and one of them asked rudely why new items had arrived, while attacking the victim causing injuries to his head and back caused by a blunt object.

The victim then ran around the mining 88 runway but was still chased by OTK who wanted to return to the persecution. Meanwhile, the witness of the intimidating action was helicopter pilot Andre Kristian who was pointed at by an air rifle while still in the helicopter and when the victim managed to get on and close the heli door, one of the OTK threw a window breaking it and slashed the front window with a machete until it broke.

After the victim was in the helicopter, the helicopter pilot immediately flew him and returned to Tanah Merah. The victim was then taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

On a different occasion, KST again threw tantrums, where the TNI post of the Pamtas Mobile Yonif Para Rider 330/TD task force in Titigi, Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua, was reported to have received an attack from KST. The attack sparked gunfire between TNI and KST officers.

As a result of the attack, two soldiers namely Prada B and Pratu BAM, Yonif PR 330/TD personnel reportedly suffered gunshot wounds. Prada B suffered a gunshot wound to the waist and was evacuated from Intan Jawa to Mimika Hospital to receive medical treatment.

The KST attack on the TNI post occurred at 11.45 WIT. In addition to the two soldiers who were injured, a member of the Eagle Action Task Force, Sertu Hospital, was also shot. It was recorded that he was shot during the process of evacuating soldiers. The shot at the Sertu Hospital was found to be in  a body  vest and he was still conscious.

This shows that the KST movement must receive special attention, especially since KST is suspected of provoking young people in Papua to take up resistance, both against the TNI and Polri. It was this provocation that gave KST new energy to fight back and riot.

KST’s brutal actions certainly cannot be tolerated because apart from threatening the peace of society, these gangs also openly threaten national sovereignty. These various KST actions have added to the anger of the Papuan people considering that KST is currently still holding hostage the Susi Air Pilot, the Susi Air pilot, Philip Mark Mehrtens.

Head of Information for Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih Colonel Kav Herman Taryaman said, now it has been revealed that KST is not only using citizens, women and children as shields, but also inviting junior high/high school students to attack TNI soldiers who are on duty. . Provocation was not only carried out through social media, but KST also went directly to the junior high/high school students to attack the officers who were on duty.

According to Herman, of course this is very regrettable so it would not be wrong if residents in Nduga Regency and Intan Jaya and other areas started to fight against the mob. This is because the family or their children are the victims of the KST action.

He explained that the areas controlled by KST were very difficult to reach, even by local governments, especially at the district level where the group was based. He mentioned that if you look at the roles of district heads and village heads in certain locations, they tend not to work.

Before Susi Air Pilot Philip Mark was taken hostage, KST also disrupted the process of building a health center and burned down a school on the grounds that people would not become smart, because when they become smart they cannot be influenced to join in the rebellion with separatist goals.

KST is indeed very cunning, they intimidate residents and prohibit children from going to school, and are even forced to join the KST mob. The actions taken by KST cannot be justified, they also carry out actions that are detrimental to the Papuan people and not infrequently they make the atmosphere in Papua unsafe, such as vandalism or arson.
