The Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) shot two children who were civilians in Papua. Of course, the shooting incident by the separatist gang is one of the many pieces of evidence that they are indeed a very cruel and brutal group of people.

The cruelty and brutality of KST Papua is completely indiscriminate, they do not hesitate to attack and injure anyone and even kill civilians, even if they are children.

This shooting action adds to the list of bad things that KST Papua has done, not just by destroying several public facilities, but they also often carry out attacks and murders by shooting indigenous Papuans (OAP) themselves. However, fortunately, Indonesia has a strong and responsive security force to respond to all the atrocities and brutality of the terrorist gang from Bumi Cenderawasih.

The incident began when the Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force succeeded in arresting one person in the name of Bui Wonda alias Bossman Wenda on Monday, April 8 2024 at around 10:00 Eastern Indonesian Time (WIT).

The arrest of Bui Wonda was in the context of the security forces carrying out investigations regarding weapons and ammunition owned by KST Papua. Then in the afternoon, at around 14:00 WIT, there was another separatist group in the Intan Jaya area led by Undius Kogoya who attempted to free Bossman Wenda.

Efforts to free one of their members who were caught by the security forces were carried out by attacking the Bank Papua post in Intan Jaya. Suddenly a series of gunshots were heard from behind the Bank Papua post.

Suddenly, because of the shooting there, security forces from the Cartenz Peace Task Force attempted to respond to the shooting from KST Papua from the BPD post and also from the tower post in the direction where the initial gunshots came from, up to six shots.

As a result of this incident, the BPD Post then suffered serious damage. Even so, with the skills of all security personnel, none of the members of the Cartenz Peace Task Force were injured or safe. However, at around 14:30 WIT there was information that two civilians who were still children were hit by gunfire from the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group.

Hearing this news, the Cartenz Peace Task Force immediately went to the crime scene (TKP) and evacuated the two victims so they were immediately rushed to the nearest public health center (Puskesmas) in Bilogai so they could receive medical assistance.

Head of the Cartenz Peace Operations Public Relations Task Force (Kasatgas Humas), Adjunct Police Commissioner (AKBP) Bayu Suseno said that his party still does not know where exactly the shots that hit the two Papuan children came from.

Even so, the security forces emphasized that they were continuing to carry out investigations to find out from which direction the shots that resulted in the two children who were civilians could become victims of shooting by KST Papua.

Furthermore, Head of Operations (Kaops) Damai Cartenz, Police Commissioner (Kombes Pol) Faizal Ramadhani said that his party would continue to pursue the perpetrator of the shooting which resulted in the Task Force post being heavily damaged and two children becoming victims. Not only the prosecution, but the security forces will also continue their investigation into the alleged KST Papua network which is currently being detained.

For information, the identity of the victim of the shooting by the terrorist gang, namely Nando Duwitau, who was a 12 year old child, was declared dead. And another victim named Nopina Duwitau, a 6 year old child, suffered a gunshot wound to her left hand.

Currently, the victim named Nando Duwitau has been taken by his family to the Agape Church in Wandoga Village to be buried, while the victim named Nopina Duwitau is still at the Community Health Center and receiving further medical treatment.

The cruel and very brutal behavior of KST Papua is not only carried out against security forces, but sadly they also do not hesitate to carry out their barbaric actions against civil society, even more sadly against underage children.

In the past week alone, there have been stabbings by gangs that are contrary to the ideology of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), which is a group led by Elkius Kobak and Yotam Bugiangge in Yahukimo and also resulted in the deaths of two civilians.

The security forces expressed their deepest condolences for the deaths of several civilians who were victims of KST Papua’s cruelty and brutality as a result of their indiscriminate attacks that targeted the 2 children. Then the authorities emphasized that they would continue to provide support to the victims by immediately carrying out intensive investigations and carrying out very strict law enforcement against the perpetrators.
