Dismissing Accusations of Vote Mobilization, STIN Cadets Have Democratic Rights in the 2024 Election

Bogor – In the world of social media, a hoax video is circulating which narrates an effort to mobilize the votes of STIN cadets for the 2024 elections. This fake news previously developed on social media Tiktok. In order not to become a polemic, STIN issued a statement that STIN cadets have the right to vote as mandated by law.

The STIN cadets have all been registered on the Permanent Voters List (DPT) in their respective regions of origin, are currently undertaking study assignments and have not returned to their domiciles. Therefore, they arranged to move voters’ domiciles near campus.

STIN coordinated with the Bogor Regency KPU so that the cadets were allowed to move their domicile around Bogor. This is in accordance with PKPU regarding citizens who are carrying out study assignments in areas outside their domicile.

The KPU and the Bogor Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) have allowed and have no problem with the process of changing domicile carried out by STIN cadets, in accordance with applicable legal regulations, and have coordinated previously with STIN.

In this clarification, STIN emphasized that they were only exercising their constitutional rights and exercising their right to vote, not carrying out intelligence operations as alleged. Therefore, accusations of mobilization of STIN cadets in the 2024 elections are completely unfounded and can be considered a hoax and baseless slander.
