Entering the World Ranking, Indonesian Esport Encourages Strengthening of the Economic and Social-Cultural Sectors

Jakarta — The development of esports in Indonesia has occurred very rapidly, at the same time being able to continue to encourage improvements in the economic, social and cultural sectors very effectively.

General Chairperson of the Indonesian Esports Association (PB ESI), General Pol (Purn) Budi Gunawan emphasized the very strong commitment that his leadership association has to continue to oversee the development of esports in Indonesia.

In fact, according to him, so far with very significant developments, the perception of esports has slowly shifted, from what was previously seen as a mere game, to being considered as something that brings many benefits to the younger generation.

Of course, coaching, support and the provision of all facilities will continue to be carried out by PB ESI so that it is able to continue to nurture the young generation who will continue the nation.

In fact, according to General Pol (Purn) Budi Gunawan, many aspects of esports are very effective in honing the abilities of young people to become a superior generation.

Furthermore, with such amazing developments, esports in Indonesia is also considered capable of increasing economic, social and cultural potential.

“PB ESI wants to ensure that the development of esports in Indonesia is not just a type of game. However, it must be developed so that it has many other benefits for the development of the younger generation. Apart from the game aspect, esports is useful for honing the abilities of young people to become a superior generation. Likewise, we are aiming for esports to become a new sport that is growing rapidly with great economic, social and cultural potential,” said Gen. Pol (Purn) Budi Gunawan, Wednesday (14/12/2022).

It’s not half-hearted, even the target set by the man who is also the Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) is so that the Indonesian esports ecosystem can lead in the Asian region.

“Our mission is to encourage the growth of esports in the country by making Indonesia the most active and attractive esports center, at least in Asia,” he said.

Knowing how hard work and also very strong commitment has been owned by PB ESI as the association that accommodates esports in Indonesia, the President of the International Esports Federation (IESF), Vlad Marinescu also gave his great appreciation.

According to him, so far the developments that have occurred in the electronic sports ecosystem in the country are not playing games at all.

For him, all these rapid progress cannot be separated from the important role of PB ESI.

In fact, Vlad then appealed to many countries in the world if they wanted to oversee esports in their countries so that they would become more advanced, so that they could emulate all the efforts that had been made by the association led by Budi Gunawan.

“Under the auspices of PB ESI, the Indonesian esports ecosystem is now well organized, involving various elements, and giving appreciation to athletes that are appropriate and proportionate. Other countries can use Indonesia and PB ESI as an example for developing infrastructure and forming an esports federation in their country. In the future, Indonesia will even be able to become the world’s esports center,” he said.
