JAKARTA — The International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2024 has given birth to green cooperation between countries, which can further encourage the implementation of new and renewable energy (EBT).

The forum was attended by various world leaders, including stakeholders from various sectors, namely the energy sector, governments and international organizations that have significant roles in the energy transition.

One of the discussions at the ISF 2024 meeting was about the importance of global collaboration to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy.

CEO of Pertamina Indonesia, Nicke Widyawati, said that it is important for the private sector to play a role in supporting the energy transition.

“Pertamina is committed to accelerating investment in renewable energy. International cooperation is key to accelerating the development of green technology and ensuring that renewable energy is accessible at affordable prices across the region,” he said.

Meanwhile, President and CEO of Climate Works, Helen Mountford also emphasized the importance of strong climate policies and cross-sectoral collaboration.

“With the right policy support and close cooperation between the government and the private sector, we can achieve the net zero emission target faster,” he stressed.

“ISF 2024 provides a fantastic opportunity to bring together diverse stakeholders to create innovative solutions for a greener future,” added Helen.

Previously, the Deputy for Infrastructure and Transportation Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Rachmat Kaimuddin, said that there were a number of green cooperation agreements signed through the forum.

Not only that, but ISF 2024 itself could also produce some new ideas.

According to Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, through the holding of ISF 2024, various ideas will emerge to be followed up.

“We want to make the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum an annual agenda, an annual agenda that we hope can produce various kinds of ideas that can be followed up,” he said.

All of these discussions further emphasize the important role of green cooperation between countries in encouraging the implementation of new and renewable energy (EBT) globally.

All parties agree that the success of the energy transition requires cross-sector collaboration, major investments and policies that support sustainable innovation.

With ISF 2024 as a global collaboration platform, the steps towards a brighter green energy future are getting closer to reality.
