HLF-MSP and Indonesia Africa 2024 in Bali Produce Agreement and Strengthen Global Cooperation
Denpasar – The implementation of the High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships (HLF MSP) and the Indonesia-Africa Forum II in Bali has officially begun. Participants from various countries and international organizations showed high enthusiasm in an effort to strengthen multi-stakeholder partnerships to overcome global challenges.
By taking the theme “Bandung Spirit for Africa’s Agenda 2063”, the 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum becomes the foundation for building cooperation between Indonesia and African countries in the future.
Some of the achievements of cooperation in the forum include cooperation in economic transformation, energy, mining, food security, health, and development.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Pahala Nugraha Mansury, said that African countries have an increasingly important role in the global economy, especially for Indonesia.
“African countries are recorded as having 10% of the world’s oil reserves and 8% of gas. In addition, they are also rich in critical minerals such as 55% of the world’s cobalt reserves, 48% of manganese reserves and 22% of the world’s graphite reserves,” he said.
He hopes to be able to work together to ensure that the natural resources of each country are not exploited by other parties and can be enjoyed by the people of their own country.
Previously, the Deputy for Politics, Law, Defense, and Security of the Ministry of PPN/Bappenas Bogat Widyatmoko explained the three major global issues that are of particular concern to Indonesia, namely the global polycrisis, the weakening of multilateralism, and the impact of the global pandemic.
“These issues have led to a widening development gap between the countries of the South and the North, and have hampered progress in achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda,” he explained.
Therefore, Bogat continued, after realizing the importance of addressing these problems, as well as demonstrating its leadership in fostering international solidarity in line with the commitment of the Vision of Golden Indonesia 2045, Indonesia then held the HLF MSP.
