Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in Solo, Central Java are committed to keeping the 2019 Election safe and peaceful. This was conveyed by two Islamic boarding schools in Solo, namely Ta’mirul Islam and Al Muayyad.
The head of the Ta’mirul Islamic Boarding School, Muhammad Halim, invited the religious leaders to sit together to create situations and conditions for the 2019 elections to be safe. He also requested that religious leaders not be provoked by issues that would make the situation hot.
Halim said, religious leaders must be able to reduce not to even add to the atmosphere to become hotter. So it is very good if religious leaders can sit together that this (Election) is an ordinary political agenda that does not need to be overly agitated, and Muslims remain united.
According to him, there has been a joint commitment of religious leaders in Solo to keep the 2019 Election safe and peaceful. In fact, his side together with other religious leaders will conduct deliberations to realize the 2019 elections that are peaceful and safe.
He said, in Solo there had been a joint commitment that we would continue to hold meetings. We sit together Alhamdulillah, many times we have problems, we sit together, we discuss together.
His party appealed to the public not to be easily provoked by news issues which are not necessarily the truth. He also asked the public not to overly respond to information circulating in the community.
He explained, if it relates to religion, leave it to the religious leaders of the leaders, do not have to move alone.
While the Chairman of Al Muayyad Islamic Boarding School Faishol Rozaq said, he always appealed to the public not to be provoked by issues in responding to the 2019 Presidential Election and Pileg.
It also asked the community to prioritize peace despite different choices, but always maintain the integrity and harmony of the community.
He revealed, because harmony has become the will of the founder of our cottage and always respond wisely.While in the declaration the head of the lodge and the santri unfurled banners that read “Supporting and Maintaining Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, and NKRI, and Anti Hoax and Anti SARA in the 2019 Election”. With this declaration, religious leaders and the community are encouraged to remain wise and wise in responding to differences that occur in society. If it is not wise, then the image of the leadership of the people or the community itself will be harmed. It is expected to all to always groove despite the different choices, while maintaining harmony.
