Banda Aceh – Acehnese weaving artisans who participated in the Aceh Weaving Creation Training, part of the Aneuk Muda Aceh Unggul Hebat (AMANAH) program, are now flooded with orders after exhibiting their work. The AMANAH program, initiated by the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), not only provides training to artisans, but also actively promotes their work, both at the provincial and national levels.

Zulhelmi, AMANAH Weaving mentor, stated that the increase in orders was not only due to product quality, but also thanks to the promotion carried out with participants. “After this training, our products have been promoted by AMANAH. So, many people know and are interested in our weaving,” said Zulhelmi to the media crew, Sunday (8/9/2024).

One of the significant promotional steps was AMANAH’s involvement in the Muslim Fashion Festival (Muffest) which took place in Jakarta. At the event, Acehnese woven products received widespread attention from various groups, including young designers. “We were introduced to several millennial designers, and thank God, our woven products are in high demand,” added Zulhelmi.

The Aceh Woven Creation Training lasted for three days, since August 26 and was attended by craftsmen from various regions, such as Aceh Jaya to Bener Meriah. From this training, six participants were selected to work at the Amanah X Kutaraja Weaving House, where they will produce woven fabrics that have been ordered by various large companies.

The AMANAH program not only focuses on improving the skills of craftsmen, but also aims to drive the local economy through typical Acehnese products. “We hope that with this training, Acehnese craftsmen will be better known and their works can compete in the national and international markets,” said an AMANAH official.

This program has been appreciated by many parties because it has succeeded in raising local potential and providing new economic opportunities for the people of Aceh. With the support of AMANAH, weaving craftsmen not only produce high-quality products, but also contribute to advancing the creative economy in their regions.
