Religious Figures: Thank You President Jokowi, Support for the Elected President’s Program
Jakarta – Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) KH Marsudi Syuhud and Secretary General of Muhammadiyah KH Prof Abdul Mu’ti expressed their gratitude to President Joko Widodo for his significant contributions during his tenure as the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia.

According to the Deputy Chairman of the MUI, KH Marsudi Syuhud, the community should be grateful because the infrastructure development is realized for the benefit of this nation. Building a toll road of such length, ports, MRT, LRT, airports, all of that makes life easier for the community.
Then building the welfare of a diverse nation, united in diversity. Religious harmony is progressing well, with mutual respect among one another; all Indonesians feel they can live side by side, enjoying the developments that have been made, he said.
Later, when the new President and Vice President take office, the development initiated by Jokowi should continue without interruption so that its benefits are not diminished, he added.
We can be orderly and harmonious if we respect the rules of the constitution and laws. If we firmly adhere to these rules, then in any situation, we will be able to maintain order, he concluded.
Being a nation and a state means following the rules, and those rules have been established by the Parliament, so they must be adhered to. If there are no rules, it will lead to chaos, as a sign of it.
Minimal has three types of brotherhood: 1. Brotherhood among fellow believers, 2. Strengthening bonds between individuals, 3. Brotherhood among people of the same nation and homeland. Don’t just focus on politics every five years, as it can break the bonds of brotherhood. What matters is to be harmonious and unite again, even with different choices and views, he explained.
Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of Muhammadiyah, KH Abdul Mu’ti, expressed his highest appreciation to President Jokowi for 1. the infrastructure development that supports economic growth. Isolated areas can open up. 2. The economy can endure, unemployment rates decrease, and job opportunities increase. The importance of appreciation because we have endured the COVID era, which has had a significant impact. 3. Open democracy. Everyone can express criticism. Democracy is functioning well. National and state life is progressing smoothly. 4. Appreciation of the roles played by Jokowi on the international stage. Example: G20 Summit, ASEAN Summit, Indonesia’s involvement in peace efforts for Israel-Palestine and Russia-Ukraine, which shows achievements that deserve appreciation.
Learning from the experiences of the presidential and legislative elections, in order for this regional election to run smoothly, there are new challenges that Prabowo must face as the new president, he said.
There is no political money; the community has tolerance towards others who have different views. Early mitigation. The democratic process must proceed as planned and be of high quality, clearly.
