Radicalism is a dangerous disease that must be eradicated. Therefore, all parties must work together to prevent its spread. Starting from the government, community leaders, officials, to civilians. Everyone must work together so that radicalism can be quickly overcome.
Terrorism and radicalism are notions that may only be known to the public because the organization was only able to enter Indonesia in 1998-1999, after the fall of the New Order. The relatively freer reform order was used by radical groups to build a base in Indonesia and create various problems that confuse the public.
The danger of radicalism and terrorism is division, because people are provoked to build a caliphate state. There are some people who are sadly persuaded, perhaps because of limited knowledge or poisoned by sweet promises from radical groups. However, there are certainly far more who oppose it because they believe that radicalism and terrorism are not suitable for a pluralistic Indonesian society.
Approaching the end of the year is a crucial time because from past years, there is a threat of bombing by radical groups, which will be detonated in places of worship. The commander of Korem 043/Gatam Brigadier General Drajad Brima Yoga advised the public to immediately inform if there are suspicious activities that could be carried out by radical groups.
Brigadier General Drajad continued, information from civil society is very valuable because their information is limited. In addition, the TNI is committed to preventing terrorism, especially towards the end of 2021. Synergy is needed to eradicate terrorism and radicalism, especially from the media crew. In a sense, journalists must share information with the TNI so that terrorist arrests occur quickly.
Collaboration between the community, the media, and the TNI is mandatory, in order to eradicate terrorism in Indonesia. If everyone is aware that radicalism is dangerous, they will share information with each other. TNI soldiers will move and be accompanied by the anti-terror Detachment 88, because they help each other to prevent acts of terrorism and radicalism in Indonesia.
When there are terrorist arrests initiated by TNI soldiers, instead of the anti-terror Detachment 88, then this is not against the rules. This is because one of the tasks of the TNI is to secure the community and prevent terrorism is one way. In fact, the TNI here is moving quickly to prevent people from becoming victims of terrorism and radicalism.
Why should there be collaboration? The reason is that if only the government or the apparatus moves, it will be very difficult. People should not be ignorant and keep their attention to their surroundings. If there is something suspicious, it can be reported and accepted with pleasure. Don’t be afraid if you meet TNI members first, because they are people’s friends.
The community can also prevent radical understanding on social media. They can see which social media accounts are controlled by radical and terrorist groups, because their characteristics are very unique. For example, in this account, too often they blaspheme the government and boast about jihad and the caliphate state.
If there is a suspicious social media account, you can report it directly to the cyber police who are assigned to cyberspace. The cyber police will take action and freeze the account, so that it can no longer spread the poison of radicalism to the public. Don’t be afraid to report because 1 report can save many people.
Synergy to resist the spread of radicalism must be done so that radical groups can be quickly eradicated. Good cooperation between the government, TNI, Polri, media, and civil society must be carried out, so that radicalism can disappear from Indonesia. The public is asked to be careful and report any indications of radicalism, both in the real and virtual worlds.
