The Importance of Participatory Supervision of All Elements for the Success of the 2024 Regional Election

All elements of society need to closely monitor the implementation of the 2024 Pilkada. With this participatory supervision, it is hoped that the implementation of the 2024 Pilkada can run safely and smoothly according to the targets set.
The implementation of a regional level democratic party in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Election itself is actually a big desire of the community. Therefore, it is very important to have participatory supervision from all elements to ensure that political contestation runs successfully without any obstacles.
Because, the success of implementing the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Election (Pilkada) itself will not be achieved optimally if it does not get support from various parties in a participatory manner in carrying out supervision.
Postgraduate Director of the Pontianak State Islamic Institute (IAIN), Prof. Dr. H. Zaenuddin Hudi Prasojo conveyed how important the role of the community is in efforts to carry out supervision in the implementation of the 2024 regional elections in a participatory manner.
The existence of active participation from the community is a foundation for the establishment of strong democratic principles and is also essential to truly guarantee that the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections can run fairly, transparently and free from manipulation.
Participatory supervision itself is an action that involves the entire community being able to actively monitor all stages and processes of the 2024 Pilkada.
With the active involvement of the community in carrying out this supervision, it actually also instills a sense and form of responsibility in all citizens to be able to work together to ensure that the Regional Head Election can run according to the rules, honestly and transparently.
For active participation from the community itself, regarding various matters related to the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections, such as from monitoring campaigns, voting, to counting votes.
If the public wants to make active participation efforts in this democratic celebration, it does not mean that they are just watching, but there are several important principles that must be realized, such as openness, accountability, equality and involvement.
If there is access that is able to guarantee openness of information and also involves all elements of society in the monitoring process, then the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections can be realized by increasing transparency and reducing the potential for fraud in political contestation.
Therefore, increasing the active participation of all elements and also empowering all citizens is very crucial. In this regard, it is also necessary to have education and training programs to further encourage increased understanding and awareness of politics in society.
Furthermore, appropriate use of social media can actually also be a step to continue to disseminate information and mobilize active participation from the community on a massive scale.
Apart from that, it is no less important that there is good cooperation between the community, the government and also the organizers of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections (Pilkada).
The establishment of good cooperation between all parties will clearly be able to ensure that various perspectives can be integrated in the decision-making process and further increase the effectiveness of supervision in regional elections.
The existence of various steps such as education, training and legal protection for parties actively involved in participatory Pilkada supervision will be able to prevent and overcome the possibility of various obstacles such as limited access to information, low political awareness and technological obstacles.
The success of active participation measures in supervising the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections will not only increase transparency and accountability, but also ensure that every citizen’s vote is counted fairly so that the integrity of the Pilkada and also the strengthening of democracy occurs in Indonesia.
Participatory supervision, especially for first-time voters in regional level political contestations, can create the 2024 regional elections that are fair, honest, dignified and synergistic.
Chairman of the Papua Province Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), Hardin Halidin, said that participatory supervision of first-time voters will clearly determine the quality of the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections.
So, even though they have the status of novice voters in regional political contestations, the entire young generation should cultivate an understanding from an early age of their role as participatory supervisors is important.
On the other hand, Manado State University academic, Dr. Irene Tangkawarow explained that the use of social media or the digital realm in a regional level democratic party event has very high potential, enabling and enabling the public to actively monitor the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections and uphold justice in this participatory supervision.
Therefore, all elements of society without exception have a very important role in realizing the success of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Election (Pilkada) by carrying out participatory supervision which is very important for the realization of a quality and transparent democratic party in Indonesia.
