West Manggarai – The ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo resulted in various agreements and cooperation, both regional and global.
The Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Airlangga Hartarto said that Indonesia would hold the position of Chair of the ASEAN Summit in 2023 with the theme “ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth”. In this moment, Indonesia is determined to strengthen ASEAN’s relevance as a center for regional economic growth.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, once said that Australia provided support to Indonesia’s chairmanship at the 2023 ASEAN Summit.
“Australia believes that integration is needed between the G20 agenda and the ASEAN agenda to ensure the achievement of goals in the two forums,” said Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.
Not only Australia, Deputy for the Southeast Asia Division of the Department of Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Kaneko Kazuya, said that Indonesia is indeed considered capable of leading international forums, moreover Indonesia is one of the dominant countries among ASEAN member countries.
“Indonesia currently occupies the position of the country with the largest economic contribution in ASEAN with the largest population,” said Kaneko Kazuya.
On the other hand, the General Secretary of HIPMI NTT, Wilson Liyanto said that HIPMI was also happy because finally NTT had returned to the world’s attention, at the ASEAN level, namely the 2023 ASEAN Summit.
“The 2023 ASEAN Summit is an event for all ASEAN countries to discuss world political and economic developments,” said Wilson.
The community around the implementation area also welcomed the implementation of the conference, because it helped stimulate the NTT economy.
Previously, Indonesian President Joko Widodo said that the holding of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo also aims to promote the super priority tourism destination area (DPSP).
