Jakarta – The 43rd ASEAN Summit (Summit) will take place from 5 to 7 September at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC). Various preparations have been made by both the Ministry and the Security Forces.

It is believed that the synergy between the TNI, Polri and BIN officials will make the event successful which will be attended by heads of state and ASEAN partners.

The TNI Commander said that security for the summit in Jakarta was not much different from security at the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, NTT. He also ensured security, safety and personal comfort for VVIP ASEAN Summit participants.

“The ASEAN Summit has already been held, so I am sure that all officers can carry out this task well and furthermore cooperation between Task Forces is needed in the nature of coordination,” said Yudo at Wisma Ahmad Yani, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

The Commander in Chief also explained that at the ASEAN Summit VVIP Pam activities there were a number of Task Forces that would later carry out security, such as the VVIP and Regional Pam Pam Task Force, Air/Hanud Task Force, Passus Task Force, Information Task Force, Medical Task Force, Intel Task Force, Marine Task Force, Pam Task Force Airports and Ports, Komlek Task Force, Evacuation Task Force, and Cyber Task Force.

The TNI and Polri as well as BIN will strengthen solidarity and synergy in providing security and guarding the 43rd ASEAN High Level Conference (Summit) 2023 in Jakarta.

Previously, the 17th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime (AMMTC) took place in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, NTT, on 19-23 August 2023.

The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police (Polda) deployed 460 personnel to secure the ASEAN side event activities.

“In an effort to maintain security ahead of AMMTC, we have prepared 460 personnel who are ready for duty,” said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the NTT Regional Police, Kombes Ariasandy, some time ago.

Ariasandy revealed that security preparations had begun by holding security rehearsals. The aim is to ensure that all aspects of security are well coordinated.

Meanwhile, the 55th ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) Meeting and Related Meetings some time ago also received security guard from the Central Java Regional Police so that these activities could take place smoothly.

“Of course the Central Java Regional Police and other stakeholders including the TNI and city/district governments are working together to provide security guarantees for this activity,” said Central Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi during a rally for troops on Jalan Pahlawan, Semarang.
