The condition of Indonesia ahead of the opening of the 144th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Nusa Dua, Bali on March 20, 2022, is very conducive. This can be seen from the stability of security that is safe and under control and the number of positive cases of Covid-19 is decreasing.
The 144th IPU Session was opened by President Joko Widodo and will take place from 20 to 24 March 2022. The atmosphere on the Island of the Gods, especially around the Nusa Dua area, looks safe and conducive. Even the people who look enthusiastic welcome guests from various parts of the world. They really hope that the IPU can continue in a safe and peaceful atmosphere, so as to give a good impression in the eyes of the guests. Thus, it shows that Indonesia is very worthy of being visited by tourists.
For Indonesia, the 144th IPU session became an important event after the Covid-19 pandemic storm that hit Indonesia from all aspects of life. The economy which is also affected by the domino effect is expected to bounce back with the holding of the 144th IPU in Bali.
Given the importance of the 144th IPU for the national economy, what needs to be emphasized now is controlling Covid-19 cases. It is very reassuring when the trend of daily Covid-19 cases in Indonesia continues to decline and vaccination rates continue to increase up to booster vaccinations.
In terms of the Covid-19 vaccination, the first dose was 194.4 million and the second dose was 153.4 million. This data shows that the government’s efforts to control Covid-19 are getting maximal.
The trend of decreasing Covid-19 cases nationally is a guarantee for the 144th IPU trial in Bali. The decline in Covid-19 cases in Indonesia made 115 countries comfortable sending the 144th IPU participant delegation to physically attend the event. They believe that the safety of their delegates to come to Indonesia is guaranteed.
During this IPU activity, the government implemented strict health protocols, including by implementing a bubble system for all committees and delegates. This is to anticipate the spread of the virus and the addition of Covid-19 cases in the 144th IPU.
The Bubble System was previously applied to the 2021 PON XX event in Papua, which is a travel corridor system that divides people into different groups (bubbles) by separating people at risk of being exposed to Covid-19 (either contact history or travel history to other countries). areas where community transmission has occurred) with the general public.
This decline in Covid-19 cases indicates that Indonesia is very ready to host the 144th IPU trial. The decline in Covid-19 cases also shows that Indonesia’s preparations are very mature from various aspects.
