Regional expansion aims to create equitable development so that it will reduce inequality and inequality in an area. This will be the starting point for increasing stability in #Papua.
This was the response to the determination of the three draft bills regarding the division of the region in Papua into a DPR initiative bill that was delivered by an observer from the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) Hidayat AlMardy, SE., M.Si in an interview Tuesday, (22/4/2022).
“That the goal of the expansion is equitable development in each region without any inequality, without any gaps, without any sense of being marginalized in certain regions,” he said.
He also said that Papua, which also has special autonomy funds with all its support and additional funds for infrastructure which is almost 100 trillion, is constrained by its geographical area. Given this geographical situation, the expansion is one solution for equitable development and reducing inequality in society.
The expansion should be a momentum for the welfare of the people. With very large special autonomy funds, the most important thing is to be effective and efficient in the development itself using the existing special autonomy funds.
“So, with sufficient funds, support from the center for #Papua, there should be no more gaps. If there is no gap, this expansion will be the starting point for increasing security stability in #Papua,” he concluded.
The House of Representatives (DPR) officially stipulates three draft laws (RUU) regarding regional expansion in Papua into a DPR initiative bill in the DPR’s plenary meeting, Tuesday (12/4/2022).
The three bills are the Bill on the Formation of the Province of #South Papua, the Bill on the Formation of the Province of #Central Papua, and the Bill on the Formation of the Province of #Papua Central Mountains.
